I have just finished painting this splendid model, and am looking forward to letting him loose on some unsuspecting orcs.

I have noted the FAQ/Errata that his move is 12 (not 8 as printed) I also note there is no increase for him having a glaive.

What I am curious about is his "Ride Asfaloth Ride" ability.
Its states he moves and charges like a flying monster.

Ok err, so he can "fly" over other troops formations (friendly or enemy), and impassible terrain...
Can I get confirmation on this please?
It seems a bit much for an elf on a horse. I know its probably just a "game mechanic" to make him that bit extra special. Its just that I can just see my opponents face though when he "flies" over an impassible river or other some such..., makes me cringe a bit.

I can accept the extra attacks for charge, again that's just a game mechanism to make him special on the charge.

Any thoughts?
Scott

well its ment to be like he is really agile so he dodge through a band of orcs and then run up a cliff.... wait a minute thats not right...
so ya, its just a mechanism, although going over impassible terrain is too much

Actually, as said, it's because it's a ridiculously nimble and strong horse. The times when it's stupid are when it can jump across an 11" chasm and such like...

hi!
is it possible to use armoured glorfindel on foot in wotr because the picture shown in the book and also the rules for glorfindel, only shows him on a horse, and as you look through the book you find him on foot????? weird and confused :?. so much appreciated if answered!!!

Hi,
in WOTR, Glorfindel is counted as a "monster", and thus only used in the mounted form!

The above is pretty mch true as the character has Ride Asfaloth! Ride ability, but for the purpose of the game it doesn't really matter.

As long as you sit him on a 40mm base, it doesn't really matter, but he is supposed to be sat on his steed, otherwise (visually) it seems a bit (more?) odd, lol :P

His move is 12" according to the FAQ http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/content/article.jsp?categoryId=&pIndex=1&aId=10500005a&multiPageMode=true&start=2
