I'm sure...that if you read the Wargear section of the rules, as noted, you'll come to the same conclusion I did.

Hi, Just a quick question. Rangers can take a spear as well as having a bow & sword... What I want to know is this... how do they use their equipment in game? Do they lose either their bow or sword, or if not, can they support a model/fight with their spear on the same turn they fire their bows? |

Nothing happens to their other weapons. If you check the Wargear section in the rules you'll see they can't provide spear support if they have shot in the Shoot phase. |

are you sure? I was under the impression that if a ranger is spear supporting another model he can shoot, and if the model is attacked, spear support. |
