Does Essence Leach offer Khamul any protection if he suffers hits during a duel?

Yes, same as normal hits.

Hey BlackMist

Could you please expand your reasoning for this. The rule says "Whenever Khamuls formation suffers a hit..." There are two types of potential "hits" in a heroic duel, those on the character (hero) and those on the "formation". I can understand the "formation" hits could be discounted etc. assuming Khamul doesn't die but what about those which are directly "hit" against Khamul (as the Heroic duel table specifies - which are not inherrently hits against the formation but Khamul himself?) Is this based on the idea/argument that Khamul is part of the formation, even though the "Hits" might be against him specfically?

PS: I'm not being argumentative - just seeking to understand

Thanks

He is a part of the formation and so the hits are against part of the formation. Thusly, they should be rebounded as normal, but I don't think you can push it to be against the specific enemy hero, just his friends around him.

At least, that's how it seems - if someone thinks otherwise, please tell me the rule that says so.

Yeah, he's part of the formation, so hits in duel follow the same rule like Hashut's Blessing says.
