I know this is about as safe as asking Riddles in the Dark, but I'd like to send a question over to GW for "official" comment. I just don't know what's the best way. I know a few have posted about emailing them questions and that was my intention, but the only address I've come up with on their site is generic customer service. Is that the right option? Does anyone have an "inside track" to a reliable rep over there that will actually consider a question before throwing out a quick arbitrary answer (I've seen such quick answers before that are often worse than not having an official ruling at all ).

My question, for anyone curious, is to ask if the Rohan Legendary Formation King's Guard counts as having a normal Banner or perhaps an Army Banner, either as part of the Command Company or if you get the Royal Standard upgrade. As mentioned before, the section in the WotR rule book about Army Banners specifically mentions the Royal Standard of Rohan as an example, but you get to the description of the Kings Guard and it only has the special rule for the Royal Standard. If the Royal Standard doesn't even function as a standard Banner then there is actually no chance for a Banner in the Kings Guard Formation at all, and that's a pretty bad oversight. If it's at least a normal Banner then it could be upgraded with the Army Banner fortune, or if they apply their own description to it (from the Army Banner Command Company description) then it may already be counted as an Army Banner. Either way though, to not have any Banner option in the King's Guard is really pretty stupid. So I need to have a generic Formation ride next to them with an upgraded Army Banner in it?? Gamling would feel pretty slighted I think (oh yeah...and even if I did that the King's Guard still couldn't take advantage of the Army Banner effect since it doesn't even have a Banner ).

Of course, it would be great if they come back and confirm that it is a Banner AND an Army Banner. Although I would say the Command Company would be a bit underpriced at that point, Rohan could use a little help in this area anyway since a few other armies get far more "cost effective" forces (not going to mention Nazgul or Mumuk ).

So...how do I do my best to get this question into the hands of someone on the WotR team that may actually have a clue?

I would recommend writing a letter to Jervis Johnson, since he passed my questions on to the FAQ team. You could always compile a few others or simply ask for the address/e-mail of the FAQ team.

Your best bet is to email the UKGT Events Team. They either answer your questions (you get a reply from an official GW GT referee) or if they can't answer them, they forward them to the studio. Try this email: whworldevents@games-workshop.co.uk . They usually take several days to answer so be patient.

Don't overuse this email though, unlike what you may think most of the loophole questions for the FAQ have already been sent to them by dozens of peoeple before, including my own package of about 30+ Try only sending questions which you can't get answered on forums, so yeah the Banner of the King is a weird one, I would send it.

Hey let us know what you find out from them about the Royal Standard and Banner of the King being used as army banners or not.
