I believe in the rulebook it does not cover this, and I am totally not sure if this is covered in the FaQ's. My questions have to deal with LINEAR path trajectory, not indirect firing (or arching-/lopping-/volley- firing) and official rules answering them.
My 1st question is:
Can archers/crossbowmen/ballista on hills/slopes/ruins/buildings/etc..basically any tabletop structure that grants a missile troop elevation advantage.. shoot over the heads of their own troops without fear of "in-the-way" checks to strike at enemy troops? Striking at the ..supporting speargoblin, or hitting the dwarf four "rows" from the fight, or the warg that is in the extreme back waiting for a opening..etc/etc/etc.
This would also, or maybe its a exemption/different subrule::
What of those in/on elevated structures shooting at targets in/on elevated structures? Again their own troops, on the ground, are between the shooter and the intended target.
Which leads me to my last question::
Can Shooters shoot UP at a target...over the heads of their own troops, in a linear path, at a target in a elevated position (ruin/building/hill/etc) without fear of a "in-the-way" roll? Not talking about shooting something directly overhead of the Shooter.
In the 1st question the Shooter is firing down at a target. That target can be on a slight rise, flat surface, boat, etc...but basically is below the Shooter. The 2nd question the Shooter is shooting at "something" relatively equal in elevation. The last is where the Shooter is below the target in terms of trajectory. In all examples there are troops moving/fighting between the Shooter and the target.
I have played in SBG games where, in all 3 cases, in-the-ways HAD to be done...and where they did NOT have to be done. To me I would Necro it...or for those that don't play Necromunda...take a piece of twine that I place on the Shooter and draw it to the target. If a troops is in-the-way then I follow the rules in the book per good/evil shooters. ...But, it's kinda of null and void if there is a rule specifically focused on these question.
Thanks in advance,
