In the rulebook it says a warrior with pike can help someone by being in base contact with another one warrior who helps a friend...
In the examples it saw an Uruk-hai with pike that is in a base contact with an orc spearman that is in base contact with an Uruk-hai warrior.
Also it saw a Uruk-hai with pike that is in base contact with an uruk-hai with pike that is in base contact with an Uruk-hai warrior.But it says the Uruk-hai has 3 attacks althought the middle Uruk-hai doesn't being in base contact with another model before the one that helps. Does it count?

Easy way to think about it:

Every spear or pike supporting model in base contact with a fighter gives a +1
You may then have up to one pike model "stacked" behind each already-supporting model for an additional +1

So assume the Warriors below all have 1 attack (and forgive the ...., in a bit of a hurry to get formatting looking good).

Warrior = 1 attack
Spear --> Warrior = 2 attacks
Pike --> Warrior = 2 attacks
Pike --> Spear --> Warrior = 3 attacks
Pike --> Pike --> Warrior = 3 attacks

Does that help?

<edited to remove incorrect references to supporting with multiple models>

You can support directly with a pike.

A lot of people suggest getting cheap Orc spears as your fist line of support and it really is the best way to get high numbers in your force, is perfectly themed (the films showed Isengard as an Uruk Hai only army but it was far more mixed in the books) and then gives you Orcs to use in other armies as well. But if your preference is a film version of the Isengard army and you just want all Uruk Hai then you are free to have you shield-armed Uruk Hai in front, followed by two ranks of pikemen. It does look impressive 8) and it's a bit harder to take out an Uruk Hai supporting model than it is to take out basic Orcs.

Whaaaat? "Only one spear-armed warrior can support one friendly model at a time. If several spear-armed warriors are touching a single friend, only one of them can give an extra attack to the friend."
One Ring, p43

Same for pikes, so the max attacks a normal warrior could have is 2 with spear support, or 3 with spear + pike or pike + pike.

D'oh. Sorry for the confusion. That's what I get for posting at work. /blush Must pay more attention to the rules and less to boring conference calls.
