what every 1 think about this model?

I picked soemthing wrong bettewn model and miniature.
The rules say he got heavy dwarf armour and sword but the miniature carries shield as well so how he only get defence 8? He should get at least 9

Ignore the shield. It's for looks in this case I'd say, unless GW makes an update that h should have the option to purchase one

I think you should count the shield with the armour.:) Defence 9 is always overkill outside of some giant monsters. :)

Durin and Dain got defence 9 without shield :P
And this is a directly lineage of Durin, seems suited would be such a way.. also without a big defence hes not much of a deal to absorv dmg when you suffer multiple wounds to him in a row... and monsters can use rent anyway which defence 9 doesnt mean much anyway

It should follow the precedent set by previous Dwarf heroes. IIRC:

Dwarf Mithril armour = +3D.
Dwarf Heavy Armour = +2D.
Dwarf Armour = +1D.

Dwarf Heroes = natural D6 (before armour).
Dwarf Warriors = natural D5.

Dain Ironfoot = D9 (with Mithril Armour) = D6 before armour.


Thror = D8. Minus 2D for DHA = D6.

Therefore its clear that Thror should be D9, once you pay for the shield.

This is likely just an oversight and will be corrected in an FAQ. Until then, either ask your opponent permission to pay 5pts for a shield (= D9), or just ignore the shield altogether.

they already posted a faq correcting that he shoudl wear dwarf heavy armour and shield instead of two handed weapon.
Thrain is D8 but thats correctly geared for a 2 handed hammer guy (hes basically a dwarf captain) with some spice on it, which actually make him absolutely awesome for his rule.

Thror just its a captain with a shield option and the arkenstone special gear, its nice

No, Light Dwarf Armor (like the rangers)=+1
Dwarf armor=+2
Heavy Dwarf Armor=+3
Mithril Dwarf Armor=+4
The first 3 from the rules, the last from inference. So dwarf warriors have a natural D4, whereas heros have a natural D5. Durin and Dain have Mithril Armor, thhus they have D9. Thror and Thrain had Heavy Dwarf Armor, thus D8. Neither has a shield in the rules. The FAQ actually says that Thror has DHA and a sword. It doesn't say anything about a shield. So, if he can infact take a shield (which he should considering his model), he should get D9, which would make up for the fact that he only has 1 Fate.

Nope, they corrected it to say that he has heavy armor and a -sword-. He does not have a shield, in any way of the word. He does not have the defence it would have given him, and he does not have the actual shield. Even if it did list the shield, it would be pointless because he can't use the shielding action because he is fearless.

As such, the only benefit he could possibly get from a shield is going up to D9.

Not quite true, as long as you keep succeeding your 4+ fate saves, you get that fate point back. I think that might be why they did not want to make the guy D9 as well, to avoid having a really beefy hard to wound guy who can get lucky several times over.

True, but he only needs a single roll of a 1 to effectively lose a rule. D9 is also useless against monsters and Azog, so his shield won't save him from trolls, fell beasts, the Balrog, or the Pale Orc.

about thaat he can't shield even when he has a shield, you only use the ring's rule when you put it on, you can put it of i think.
monsters and azog will slay him with ease
