Question... How would you interpret Thrain's two handed weapon? His profile clearly says the the model is armed with a 2-handed axe; however the model description on the GW site (as well as the model) clearly shows/states this is a 2 handed hammer.

How would you rule this I'm terms of special strikes - bash(hammer) or piercing(ax)?

Go with the model, it matches the film and GW will probably correct it as they did with his father

I tend to agree with you.

Regarding Thror, I didn't see where they updated his profile?

Sorry, should have said that they changed thr weapon but they still didn't address him being modeled with a shield (and no option to add a shield).

Go with WYSIWYG.

Hopefully it should all be sorted with a Hobbit an Unexpected Journey, Journey book. I suspect that these issues resulted from the related secrecy and lack of information etc encountered when developing a game based upon an unreleased film.

Personally I am going with t he what you see is what you get!
I do hope that this means that Thror's defence is elevated to a 9.

However I would have appreciated Thrain having an axe over the hammer (despite it looking cool) for the special rule.

Agreed on WYSIWYG... that's the way I'm planning on using it.

Totally agree. The special strikes rule for an Axe seems much more usable for a big hero than the Bash rule. I've struggled to come up with a plausible reason why I would give up 2 additional strikes against a model just to knock him down. I guess if it was a big fight that could be useful but I suspect if it was a big fight, I'd also have a Grimhamer in the fight and could use that to Bash the model and get double strikes from Thrain.
