Can a Warg Marauder shoot into a combat it is taking part in? If he is allowed and is the only model on his side does he hit himself for the 1-3 in the way roll? Thanks! |

That's a really good question! Actually I would assume so, but I would have thought it would risk hitting other miniatures in the fight? |

I'd say yes he can shoot but he doesn't risk shooting himself as the profile states that you treat the maurader as one model, there is no differentiation. And no where in the rules does it say you can shoot yourself lol |

you mean a rider of a mount shooting into his own combat? p.31 of the Big Rulebook it says you can't shoot if engaged in combat. |

The Warg Marauder is as far as I am aware the only model that has a special rule stating that the goblins may still fire if the warg is in combat! See the Moria and Angmar supplement. |

I wasn't even aware that the model existed, must have missed that one. I would say that you don't have to do a "in the way test" unless there is another model from your force in the same combat. |

this also applies to the watcher in the water by the way guys, the only models in game who can be in combat and shoot in the game are both part of moria lol |

The only thing stopping me is my back log of unpainted miniatures, and my desire for the new DOS stuff. Particularly the spiders as I can have a few of those up and running in an afternoon and evening. |

They can fire at other combats without problem, with the same risk of hitting their own guys. So if they fired into their own I'd say there's a chance they'd wound themselves. |

Thanks everyone! I am pretty new to the game and wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something. I can honestly see it going either way, I mean these are gobbos we are talking about and from what it looks like they are riding on the back of a warg that is trying to buck them off and it wouldn't be to difficult to shot an arrow through the warg or the goblin in front of them. However, the rules state they are one model for all intents and purposes and it seems silly that they would be able to shot themselves when no one else has that problem. In my mind it works out that they are shooting right before the blows are swung (even though they are in close combat) when they are slowly walking around in a circle and sizing the other guy up and right after the shots are fired both sides kinda rush in for that cinematic fight feel. Anyways I put in a message to GW so we will see if they answer it anytime soon. |
