I just started to learn the new warband rules. First I thought it is another stupid rule just for sell more spec figure.
But after I read some opinions about it, I kinda like it.
So, my question, can a warband separate? Can the members of the group go in different ways? Can the captain leave his team?

Yes they can. Warbands are purely for force organisation and deployment. Once deployed each model can do and go wherever they want.

No. A warband can be deployed in any way they like but must start within 6" of the warband leader.
