His rule says as long as he can see the model whose rule yes canceling. WhaT does that mean? So can he see someone if they are 40 inches away if uncovered? Can he see through 3 rows of enemies to the guy in question??? |

As long as he can see the opponents model in anyway he can see them. Distance doesn't matter and neither do in the way models. |

But he needs to actually be able to see him. It's far too common for people to basically ignore models that are between characters. They can and do block LOS |

I agree. As long as you have line of sight, floi can begin cancelling special abilities. |

I'd argue he needs clear sight of the model. But I have absolutely no idea and don't have the Free People's sourcebook so take that with a pinch of salt. |

I just double checked his special rule. It says specifically that the range is unlimited, and that *Floi* must have LOS. "There is no range to this ability - As long as Floi can see the foe, and has a Will point to, it works." (the free peoples, pg 32). Next question: Floi is fighting gulavhar the terror of arnor. Floi uses his ability to shut off G's strength of body, strength of will power. What is G's atk and crg? |

Whatever his wounds are. The only thing that would be shut down is the ability to regain wounds |

So then G's atk and crg would "freeze" at their current number. That makes sense. |

Yeah because Floi is only removing the special rule not the profile stats. That's how we've always played such situations |

JamesR wrote: Whatever his wounds are. The only thing that would be shut down is the ability to regain wounds So you might actually make him a bit better by doing that? |

Is it just me, or does that not severely limit Floi to the extent that hes basically pointless if your opponent is decent.... I mean, how hard is it to keep your special rule characters away from a movement 5 dwarf? Theyd need to make a series of mistakes in my opinion.... Im just thinking about using him against my opponent who always uses Thranduil and Legolas but I mean.....how the **** am I supposed to get him in clear LOS to thranduil against anyone except a complete amateur.... |

Well admittedly Elves will be the exception seeing as they have elven cloaks, so are near impossible to see anyways. Tbh, you won't have a problem once the heroes are in the midst of combat, as they'll be in round about same place for a long time, its not as if they'll be running away from Floi. Simply put. 1. Combats with big scary heroes etc, Floi moves nearby. 2. Hero wins or loses combat, either way is moved back 1 INCH away from other models. 3. Floi wins priority, moves if nessecary, and casts on big scary hero, who is still stood unengaged. Really not that difficult when you think about it, but like I say, Elves may be an exception. |

Ah ok....that makes sense...he CAN use it before the combat phase he just needs to be sneaky. Yeah....elves must be...because most people either wont put Thranduil in combat or will only once hes surrounded with major support. Thats what Id do. |
