What happens to the prize when an enemy kills the bearer?

Possibility A: Upon the death of the bearer, the prize 'passes from one model to another' and the victor 'declares who now carries the item.' The new bearer can move normally in the next move phase unless attacked first.

Possibility B: Upon the death of the bearer, the prize falls to the ground (in base contact with the victor). In the next move phase, he can pick it up and move, unless the enemy has priority. In that case, an enemy model can move into base contact with the prize, pick it up and carry it away (and/or pass it on) without having to fight the victor who is also in base contact with the prize.

A small but strategically important point.
