Hi guys, I just had a look at my little Hobbit rulebook and I noticed volley fire isn't mentioned in the shooting section. Does this mean you can’t volley fire anymore? And does anybody know what the rules were. I can’t find my Lord of the Rings rulebook...

With the new warband deployment rules Volley fire is gone the way of the dodo

I guessed as much with the rules gone... Can someone tell me what the rules used to be? I can't find my old rulebook anywhere

Its in the old One ring rule book in the wargear section Basically 10 or more bow armed models in base contact, must all have the same type but can't crossbow, throwing weapons or spears, double the range of there bows. Archers don't need a line of sight as long as 1 friendly model can see the target and you can only score a hit on a 6. Normal in the way and movement rules apply. But can't volley closer than 18'' With the new warband deployment rules its lost its usefulness but personally i think it could still be useful in siege games Hope this helps |

Thanks mate! That helps a lot! Time to volley fire my enemies into oblivion if they are okay with playing these rules

There's a very important additional part, on allocating the hits. Decided to just copy the entire section, so that you will certainly be using the right and full rules! (They weren't perfect, but still a useful addition I think.)
