The book reads as follows "When comparing the dice rolls to see which side has won, only consider the highest scoring dice and the highest fight value on each side."

I need clarity on the meaning of this.

Here is the example:

Aragorn (F6) is fighting with 2 warriors of Minas Tirith (F3) against an Uruk-Hai (F4). Aragorn roles a 2 high with his 3 attacks and the 2 warriors role a 5 and a 6. The Uruk roles a 6.
Does the good side win because of Aragorns' fight counting for the 2 warriors or does the Uruk win for having the higher fight value then the warriors?

Hope this makes sense. There has been lots of disagreement with my friends on this one.

Uruk should win.... I think.

Actually I'm reading the book and it just states "In the case of a draw compare the single model's fight value to the best fight value on the multiple side." Hmm...

Yes, good wins because they have the higher fight value (due to aragorn)

Correct, good wins due to Aragon's fight value.

Although dice rolls and the models that 'provide the dice' aren't entirely independent (e.g. Aragorn could only use his Might to influence his own dice), it is in the end only the highest Fight value and die score that count, regardless if those originate from the same source. Aragorn and his friends win.

In the given example, imagine the the Uruk-hai laughing at Aragorn's miserably poor dice rolls, only to be whacked on the head by a Warrior of Minas Tirith...

the side with the best fight value wins the combat in case of a draw, no matter who rolled the best results.
In this case, Aragorn's F6 wins the day.

Thanks for the help lads!

"In the given example, imagine the the Uruk-hai laughing at Aragorn's miserably poor dice rolls, only to be whacked on the head by a Warrior of Minas Tirith..."

That is a great mental image :)

Really hmm been playing this one wrong for a bit I have been using different colored die for the various fight values so in this example I would have thought that the uruks would have won

its definitely sensible to use different dice colours (if rolling all at same time) as Aragorn could use might to adjust his - so you will need to know which his are to adjust. for example if he rolls 2 high but the WOMT roll 4 or 5 high and the Uruk rolls 6 you would need to know that it was a 2 you would need to use might on to win the fight
