dol guldur has good variety and unique stuff, like the spider queen, castellans, then there is all the wargs, bats, orcs, black guard orcs, spiders, trolls....

I'm surprised there haven't been any serpent horde votes. They would have been one of my top choices.

That's its only flaw. No army dosen't have one. For example you voted fiefdoms which have the weakness of no cheap troops.

Clansman of Lamedon are only eight points. Another problem with the Serpent Horde is that they don't really have any hard hitting troops. Serpent Guard and Watchers of Karna possibly, but they've only got S3.

i agree with spuds, my second vote would have been for the serpent horde, I think the variety of troops allows for great flexibility. Allowing to be used as a mob army or as a elite army.

I was going to say that but the Clansmen are very unreliable. I should have said no cheap reliable troops. And watchers of Karna have more attacks then any fiefdoms troops. And you've also over-looked Merchant guard of Abrakan. They'll wound D6 on 4+ and they don't even get -1 for wounding and they're 8 points. They would muller KoDA which cost more.

@ Spuds4ever - The Merchant guard of abrakan are ridonkulous. They are the same as an uruk hai scout, except they get the Chop! rule free. :roll:

They are better than uruk scouts, though. Think about it, for an uruk-hai scout with no equipment except hand weapons, which would cost 8 points same as the MGoA, they have same f, s, d, a, w, but the abrakan guard have two-handed weapons and the chop rule. Same as uruk scouts but they have +1 to wound for free which is quite a bit better IMO. Or maybe that's why they are ridiculous is what you're saying in which case I mis-understood.

Yeah, that's what I'm saying, that they are unfair. It bugs me that GW doesn't keep stuff like this consistent. Another example is the Haradrim warriors. They have the same statline as a Warrior of Rohan, yet cost a point less. And they get poisoned arrows free. :-X

Nobody has the variety of a lothlorien army. My original army was Thranduil's Halls but they're just not that versatile.

Based on a single list with no allies then my vote goes to Thranduil's halls, simply because of Legolas and his ability to win games pretty much single-handedly (Contest and Kill a King) and the woodelves themselves have some of the best options open to them..the woodelf spear being my favourite piece of wargear in the entire system. Having spear/bowmen who can shield with fv5 has saved my bacon more than once.
