So here it goes I have Sauron(both) ,Witch king, 4 nazgyl,Mouth of

Sauron, Gothmog, Shagrad, Gorbag, Hasharin(I Just liked his look and

his rules) 2Castellans, 36Orcs and 20 Easterlings

And my friend always plays a bunch of High-Elves, Gil-Galad and some

other strong elf heros...and i just want to build an army with out

Sauron-TDL to win....any help....(I´m tired of listening "Ha but Y can´t

win without TDL)

first, dit's pretty impractical to vote on your own poll, don't you think?

second, i would never leave home without a chieftain and at least one of his lesser (although not by much) kin. this would rip through a high elf l;ine, and, backed by around 25 orcs, you would have no problem.

oh, by the way, your list isn't gaming themed, unless one of the nazgul is khamul, because you easterlings have no leader. also, i didnt know sauron could be in two places at once....

rock on

doopy 8)

I'd use a Nazgul or two, Troll, Orc Captains and Orcs. You don't have a Hero for your Easterlings, so that's out. As Doop Dude said, Sauron can't be in two places at once. What points value are you aiming for?

Points, scenarios, terrain, etc. all make a bid impact to recommendations. I would say that a Nazgul with decent amount of Will and a Troll Chief in combo will take care of most Heroes. Obviously it's how you and your opponent play the forces though that can make or break that.

But before you spend too much time and effort wondering what model or list will automagically defeat your opponent, take some time to be sure you understand why he's winning. I promise you that it is not simply because of his list. Have a notebook with you and take some notes during game play regarding not just his list but what happens during the course of a game. Does he hang back as long as possible shooting, advance all his force slowly, charge forward with his melee forces and leave archers behind, etc. Does he keep one large formation or break down, and if by how many? What are his teams normally made up like (blades, spears /shields). Other than GG what other Heroes are present and how does he use them? How much Might does he have left at the end of the game and how does he use it?

What I'm basically getting at is that it is FAR more important and profitable to know your enemy as well as your own army and play style than it is to think "I keep loosing to High Elves, what should I play?" Someone well versed with a strong force of Moria Goblins could take out an army of High Elves if they play right while someone with waves of Uruk Hai may fail every time.

Well he most of the time plays GG and sometimes Legolas....Glorfindel Lord of the West....hmm...and on rear times he had played Thandruil

He keeps his army alltogather but he also keeps his archers apart for some time...he mostly uses such tactic: I shoot Y orc scum (and he stays in one plays) wand finnaly whn i get to him he juses MUSCEL and at the end he is left with only GG and he has no might (woundings) and rarely heroic moves

What do Y mean Sauron can´t be in two playses....If Y mean Necro and TDL then I don´t paly them togather and THEyR armyes are pretty much alike....(I just leav some heros out and it´s O.K)

Ou and that´s new that i had to use an Easterling Cap(or Kahmul) to use Easterlings...

Gothmog does the job for me. He can beat up thranduil quite well, but Glorifindel will definately give him a run for his cash. the "Master of Battle" rule is great too.

i still say sauron because hes an awesome figure, awesome in combat, awesome magic, causes terror and give -1 courage to enemy models near to him :D, however doing this will use up alot of points and is only really advisable in a 1000 points game. Otherwise i would go for nazgul or troll chieftain like others have said... or both :P !

Well i kinda figured that out...but was hoping that maybe there is some good combination against High-Elves...

Because only time I had killed GG without Sauron was when I palyed Troll Chieftain and a Mordor trol....although Mordor troll got pinned down by the archers I still managed to kill GG with TrollChieftain "Victory was at hand" But then Glorfindel Lord of the West came and as my Troll Chieftain was all but beaten up no might 1 wound and 1 fate-My Chieftain had no Chances

I was amazed by the fact that GG was killed by the Cheiftain....though

Well really all you need to do is swarm the Elfs and use a Ringwraith or two to transfix the heroes and beat them to a pulp with a troll. Rinse, lather and repeat until the Elfs are biting the dust.

Sauron is a bit over rated really in my opinion unless he's in a high points battle.

I'd use a Nazgul or three. meybe one of them WK with Morgul blade to sting Gil-Galad or some.
use some very cheap nazgul to cast more spells a turn.
high elves will be chance less.

@ whitelion,
Glorfindel Lord of the West is resistant to magic, which makes it harder to transfix/compel him, for this special rule GW calls him fifth among the fighter heroes (come for him: Sauron TDL, Boromir capt, Aragorn king and Guluvar)
it's just Will waste to Transfix him (my opponents opinion, he hates him)
the best way to bring Glorfindel down is with that Troll chieftain combined with some bulk or Sauron/Dragon/Balrog (pick one), or just lots of lots of bulk

Just get an army and put in heros according to points left over. That's what I do.

high elves are never a problem they are no good compared to wood elves

i took on a 700 point force with elrond gil-gallad and a captain, with 300 points of wood elves captained by legolas and damn near beat him

high elves are only ever good in small allying forces (preffarably to wood elves or grey company)

ok here what i would do

i saw my friend verse my other friends elven army

He used

the shadow lord for magic on the heros
warg riders to get to the archers quickly and tie them up
and lots of mordor orcs with a captain or two and i think a flag bearer so when they get to the main force they can swamp them without hinderance from the heros like gilgalad

hope that helped
