(is this the right place) I've been thinking about the profiles for those in LoME that I don't think are out yet, and I don't think I'm breaking any rules for posting stuff I've made up, so here goes: Elf ranger: 45p F:5/3+ S:3 D:4 A:1 W: 1 C:5 M:1 W:1 F:1 Gear: Carries elf blade, elf cloak, elf bow, elf blade, throwing daggers Can have a Wood elf spear for 2p Special rules: Hatred of Orcs: Recieves +1 to wound when using bow, throwing weapons. Bladeskill: When using the elf blade he can either use it 2 handed without the -1 to win, or single handed for +1 attack. The wood elf sentinel magic song stuff. Creature of the land: discounts all difficult terrain Ghan-buri-ghan: 80p F:5/3+ S:5 D:4 A:3 W:2 C:6 M:3 W:1 F:3 Gear: Woses War Spear*, Blowpipe *Same as a wood elf spear but also a throwing spear Special rules:Terror Blowpipe: The arrows of the Woses are tipped with lethal poison, a wound causing instant death, fate can be used to avoid this. Blowpipe: range of 20cm, strength of 4 Woodland creature Woses Warrior: 15p F:4/4+ S:4 D:3 A:1 W:1 C:5 Gear: Blowpipe, Woses spear Special rules: the same as Ghan-buri-ghan |

Ghan-buri-ghan and the woses are already done in the Return of the King journey book. IMHO your ranger is too expensive. I'm not sure I'd risk 45 points on a 1 wound model. He's basically a Sentinel with MWF, but a Sentinel gets 2 attacks, IIRC. |

Than what if the ranger had S4 D5 2 attacks and Gimli's axe of the dwarves but when using the blade 2 handed -1 to win but +1 to wound, or parry, or use it normally. But that might make them over powered |

How about drop all the Sentinel stuff, give them 2 attacks and 2 shots (lethal shot like Haldir) and MWF. That's still probably 35 points though... |

I made an Elf Ranger a while back that Ive used and seems to be balanced... 18 pts ..F.....S.D.A.W.C 5/3+.3.4..2.1.5 Equipment Elf rangers carry a handweapon, Elf cloak and Elf bow. Special Rules Forward Scout: Before the game starts, the controlling player may place elf Rangers within a terrain feature no closer than 18" away from an enemy. Signal Shot: During the first turn of the game, all Volly-fire shots targeted within 18" (and within line-of-sight) of a Elf Ranger hit on a 5+, in stead of a 6. |

Nice one BrightLance and about the other ranger: Thranduils Halls only reason of existence are the Sentinels, without that advantage, no one would ever play Thr. Halls, everyone would just play other elven races, even now Thr. Halls is a rare sight where I play, me being actually the only one using them, if Eregion and Grey Havens would gain a sentinel wannabe, I'm not sure who would still play Thr. Halls if you could take Eregion or Grey Havens, allied with Lothlorien |

Well not all people want to use strong and powerful races, some prefer to play wth their favourite characters and some prefer to play "against all odds" Like with "The Shire" for and examp. |
