So ive got a game coming up and my opponent is gonna be fielding the one and only Sauron, not the necromancer but the actual armoured badass one! With the ring!

Its a team game so his ally is taking a load of troops and a couple of wraiths, most likely.

Im just looking for some ways to deal with this, my favourite is just to try and ignore him as much as possible and feed him expendable troops, but with all the other stuff they are gonna be fielding it aint gonna be that easy....

any ideas?!

you've got the best idea already, Ignore him, take a caster or 2 to Immobilise him each turn (He'll run out of will soon enough), and a soon as you've got time and he's Immobilised, surround him with wathever might you've got and inflict as many wouds as possible, don't forget they're gonna be lower at numbers then you, and if it's not to the death you can break him easily

Before I can give advice, can you answer the following questions. Depending on the conditions, different strategies can be used.

1. How many Models?

2. How many Points?

3. What size of game board?

4. What kind of game board? (terrain, building etc) ?

Try keeping your models away from sauron, (apart from the expendeble models)

Feed the models one by one to sauron in order to prevent him from causing multiple causaltaies with his mace. There are other things you can do like luring him into difficult terrain.

agincourt777, this thread hasn't been postd in for nearly two months. Your suggestion also doesn't add much toe the discussion to be honest, which makes this thread necromancy. :o

If you are using elves I suggest that you include Rumil as well (but keep him out of range of nasty spells) you could take the risk on surrounding him and make him re-roll his 6 (prefrebaly charge him when his might stock is depleted or at least low) Elven 2H weapons will make him dead as a duck in a Chinese take-away if you're lucky.
