I love urukai and i have no problems dealing with most of the good armies (especially dwarves) but i always get beat or come very close to being beat with elves . I need an effective way to wipeout an elven army. |

It's hard because uruks are almost as expensive, so your numbers will be similar, but elves will win all fight ties, and even their warriors can tie your heroes. Maybe giving up a few uruks for some cheap orc spear support can boost your numbers and get more dice into each combat. |

Uruks are actually the bane of elven armies, elves need 6' to kill whether shooting or fighting but the uruks kill on 5's. You will find that even if the elves win more fights your uruks will get more kills. |

Alas! I'm surprised this problem isn't the other way round (elves having trouble with uruks). I would ally in some cavalry and do the 'ol hammer and anvil tactic as uruks are pretty much the perfect anvil and morgul knights as the hammer can make things look pretty messy on the pointy-eared side. |

wait back with crossbows and target the low defence elves usually you will need 4s or 5s on most of the elves keep back with you urukhai pike wall and wait for the elves to charge have flanking units of about 5-7 uruk hai scouts ready to flank i would use vrasku to gain the 2 crossbow shots at 3s to hit and still being fight 5 and stength 5 he is an awesome hero or possibly sharku with some warg riders |

Meh, the pike-wall will usually not work very well against elves as the elves will be superior in shooting against the uruks and will likely have more shots as they are not all metal. They'll both be wounding each-other on 5+ (presuming they are high elves) but the elves will be hitting on a better 3+ and they cost the same so you'll probably just have the enemy sitting there and shooting at you slowly breaking your wall. BTW, uruk-hai scouts tend to be massacared by elves (I'm speaking from experience here). |

wat i usually try and do is split the elven army in two when i am able to do so (when the archers are seperarate from infantry). wen doing this i hav a pack of warg riders stay bacck out of range of the elves or in cover and swoop in to destroy the archers leaving my phalanx of urukai to deal with the infantry. This tactic has proved to be somewhat effective but it is extremely risky because my wargs could be shot down very easily leaving my urukai exposed and surrounded. |

Just use a rank of swordsmen with shields in front, who will only be wounded on a 6 even by elves' bows. Having a pike in the front rank is useless, and if you're going to spend the points you may as well take a shield instead to increase the survivability of that front rank (which should, in theory, be blocking LoS to the softer pikemen). Unless pikes can only support pike-wielding models...? I don't remember that being the case, but if it is then a front rank of swordsmen backed up by two ranks of pikemen wouldn't work. |

i think you may just have to accept the fact that elves are completely invincible. |

one way to help you deal with elves is to outnumber them put 20 orcs behind some uruk shieldsmen and charge into combat once you are in combat move the orcs out and use them to trap as many elves as possible this is not foolproof but can be usefull |
