After looking at Hashut's Blessing's WiP and thinking that the Purple Easterlings looked sort of like Royal Guard I came up with this House Profile:

Dragon Guard: 10 pnts

F 4
S 3
D 6
A 1
W 1
C 3

Wargear: Intricately crafted Heavy armour and Easterling Halberd.
Additionally they may take:
Banner (1 per hero) : 30 pnts
Special Rules: Bodyguard
C and C appriciated.

Seems good... though an option for a shield, horse or a special rule would be cool.

otherwise it looks just like too normal by GW standars

Most of the Easterling profiles seem to be altered Gondorian ones-the new heroes being the exception, so I slightly changed the Guard of the Fountian Court to get this. I was thinking of both a armoured horse and shield options-do you think I should include them?

Perhaps add something..... like a special rule, more courage perhaps 1+ i dunno, i just hink it looks a little plain....

The easterling halberd is like an elf blade, so taking a shield would defeat the purpose. I'll agree it's a bit plain, but it's solid. I'd certainly add them to a force.

I have a bit of trouble with the D6, as you'd think that "intricate heavy armour" would be something elves could get sooner than easterlings. Bodyguard is generally worth 2 points I think, and halberd at 1 point, so I'd put the cost at 11, or 10 points at D5.

I had the impression though that Dragon Guards were going to be more like Berzerkers.

It's basicaly taking GotFC, swapping the spear for Halberd, and dropping the shield option-to be able to go two-handed isn't that great most of the time anyway.

How about a Special Rule that gives them a bonus if they're within a certain distance of an Easterling Hero?

How about a special rule where they get a +1 to strength when using the weapon 2 handed. This would really encourage 2h use.

Maybe also a horse option and the halberd counts as a lance when mounted, also with the strength bonus when using the lance. It would make them pretty unique but not overpowered as many unit types have strength 4, although I don't think anything has s4 and a lance, but that just makes them unique.

I'd say keep the points value at 10 though, and an option for armored horse and a shield. The shield would be useful when mounted but not while on foot as you lose your 2h weapon.

Just some ideas.

Mm well you could give them the rule that those new Harad merceneries have... (no penalty when using two handed weapon)

this could make them better...

What about this:
Dragon Guard: 12 pnts

F 5
S 3
D 5
A 1
W 1
C 3

Wargear: Easterling armour and Dragon Halberd.
Additionally they may take:
Banner (1 per hero) : 30 pts
Horse: 5pts
Intricately crafted Heavy armour: 1pt
Special Rules: Bodyguard

Dragon Halberd: This is the same as a normal Easterling halberd with the difference that it could been used as either a spear or a 2handed weapon.

i would make the horse 7 points and only fight four they should not be able to tie an uruk-hai captain.

Horses are normally 6 points, or 9 if armoured.

Well, I didn't know the normal horse pts, sorry.
So:
Dragon Guard: 12 pnts

F 4
S 3
D 5
A 1
W 1
C 3

Wargear: Easterling armour and Dragon Halberd.
Additionally they may take:
Banner (1 per hero) : 30 pts
Horse: 9pts
Intricately crafted Heavy armour: 1pt
Special Rules: Bodyguard

Dragon Halberd: This is the same as a normal Easterling halberd with the difference that it could been used as either a spear or a 2handed weapon.
When used on horseback, it can be used as a lance.

12 points is WAY too much. That is how much black guard cost. Black guard have 2 higher strenght and 2 higher defence.

With those rules they are basically EXACTLY the same as Axemen of Lossarnach who cost 9 points. Also make that horse an armored horse.

I don't personally really like these rules as they aren't very unique and you would definitely not want to have them in the back row, defeating the purpose of the spear.

3d changing:
Dragon Guard: 10 pnts

F 4
S 3
D 5
A 1
W 1
C 3

Wargear: Easterling armour and Dragon Halberd.
Additionally they may take:
Banner (1 per hero) : 30 pts
Armoured horse: 9pts
Intricately crafted Heavy armour: 1pt
Special Rules: Loyal to the Masters

Dragon Halberd: This is the same as a normal Easterling halberd with the difference that it could been used as either a spear or a 2handed weapon.
When used on horseback, it can be used as a lance.
Loyal to the Masters: Every Dragon Guard wants to become like Amdur and his Dragon Knights and they will follow them to death. To represent this, every Dragon Guard that stands within 14cm/6" of Amdur or a Dragon Knight recieves a +1 to its Fight value.

Looks good, the one thing I would do is either boost there Courage by one or give them the Bodyguard rule and increase the points by one.

Glad to see my work inspired something ^^ Apologies for not being able to comment on the rules themselves, but I don't really know the best way of making it balanced and fun :D

Otherwise its good, though I still think that the ability to use it as a spear should be switched for something else, as with the new special rule you definitely don't want them to be behind the main lines. Fv5 behind fv3 is not what anyone would want to do.
