Post subject:  Shoot and fight rules query

Hi guys, my first post. We have been playing LOthe R battle board game for appx two years. We have a query. On the shoot table were you cross reference hits the part that says 6/4 or 6/5 etc. Do we role all battle dice and then see how many sixes rolled. Then roll for either a 4,5, or 6 to count as hits? Or do we roll a single dice before we roll battle dice, if we do not roll a six is does the mean you cannot shoot. We are confused and would be very grateful for an answer. Sorry the post is long!
Many thanks,
Drummer

You roll your shots then you roll again for each 6 you got to see if you can get a 4+ :)

You fire with all your archers.
All those archers that hit then can roll to wound. You need to roll a 6 first (to wound roll), then you have to roll equal or greater than the number after the "/"(to wound roll). So basically the foe is so tough (due to armour/hide/magic/etc) it takes a miracle to wound it with the weaker strength of the weapon.
Its stated within the box that holds the Wounding Chart.

Remember, you can use Might to raise the die roll to a 6 for the initial chance to wound. That Might in turn also affects the 2nd roll to determine if you wound. Confused? Don't be, look on pg.36 ORB 5th paragraph. Even Miracles need a boost every once in a while.

It's GW's way of factoring higher defence levels into a game that uses d6. A 6/4 has a 1/12 chance of hitting, 6/5 a 1/18 and 6/6 a 1/36 chance. Scarpe has it right.
