After amassing a large gondor army over the last few years I'm thinking about starting to collect a small ally army which would work well together , it doesn't necessary have to be thematic, any thoughts would be welcome . For example would Citedal guards with spears , supporting iron guards or khazads be a good idea ?

In general, allying spear support to dwarves is a good plan - but don't give spear support to Khazads if you plan on using their 2-handed axes.

Thanks for your reply fishlegs , why shouldn't you support 2 handlers with spear ? . I've not play for long , WOTR was my game of choice until recently .

You can't use the strength bonus of the two handed weapon if the model is supported.

Giving spear support to iron guard is just mean, so I'de say go for it! Having a line of 3A dwarfs is a nightmare for your opponent let alone them being by themselves.

Dol Amroth knights are always a handy ally for gondor, pack a little more punch than their gondorian counterparts. And yes, iron guard with spears would be nasty.
