Managed to find one second hand for relatively cheap, wanted to ask if anyone has found them of any use.
They basic warrior chariot seems to be vulnerable to archery while the King seems very expensive for his stat line.

Personally, I totally dig the look of Khandish.

However..., they have nothing to offer in terms of point cost or stat lines.

In WOTR can be useful if they are equipped with bows and are cavalry models. But still, a tough sell. It feels like the Khandish were included in the new Sourcebooks almost as an after thought, "Oh yea, ...Khandish".

It's too bad because they have a very distinct style.

The King is so expensive because of his banner rule. The standard chariot isn't that vulnerable to bow fire, as even a xbow needs a 6 to wound the chariot, and half of all shots hit the chariot.

Remember that a Chieftain can also have a Chariot. This has always appealed to me: a captain with a stronger and more durable mount. He will be a lot better against cavalry too.
One King and some 2 or 3 Chieftains on Chariots, with some cavalry can be pretty good I think.

As far as I can see, the main advantages must be:
maximise the full move with bow fire
use the monstrous mount rule as a counter to cavalry

That first point makes me wonder what a full army of chariots would be like (not happening for me as the cost would be ruinous),

The second is making me look at the king again.
Draugluin I had forgotten that the Banner effect would be included in the King's cost, given the size of its base it may be handy behind the lines to lengthen the range of his re-rolls.
He does strike me as an interesting (if expensive) counter cavalry unit, his Fight value 6 being able to best most good rohan, gondor and Dol-amroth heroes (Boromir and Imrahil he can draw against but they are likely to murder him)

I am thinking of an easterling force at some point, the khandish warriors I have will be skirmishing on the flanks of an easterling phalanx, perhaps the chariot with some cavalry may prove useful as part of a flanking force.
