Iron Hills Dwarf (Dwarf)...9 pts M F S D A W C 5'' 3/4+ 4 7 1 1 4 Equipment: Dwarf Heavy Armour Options: Pike...1 pt Shield...1 pt Banner...25 pts War Horn...20 pts Lord's Guard (Dwarf)... 18 pts M F S D A W C 5'' 4/4+ 4 7 2 1 4 Equipment: Dwarf Heavy Armour, Two-Handed Pick-Hammer Special Rules: Burly I'm sure there have been similar posts already but, I would like some feedback on the fluffiness and balance of the units and what could be done to make them fair profiles as I would definitely have built an iron hills army had GW released profiles for them. I would still like to build one even if I just used house ruled profiles against my friends. (My favourite scene from all of The Hobbit movies was where the Mirkwood Elves jumped over their heads) |

They have to be fight 4 and They need a special rule to compete with the others in the hobbit range. |

^Well they're "Phalanx", pike plus shield, that's something unique and a rule that the Easterling Warriors have, so it's not unheard of. I would prefer just giving Iron Hill Warriors the Grimhammer profile with the addition of pike and shield + Phalanx special rule. Not sure I would charge an extra point for it though since you need the pike to have Phalanx, so the pike option itself should cost 2 points. |

Liking the suggestions so far guys, the phalanx rule is definitely a must for theme. However I think they should at least have the option for dwarf heavy armour as they are pretty kitted up in the movies. Imho the grim hammers should have dwarf heavy armour when you look at their models compared to the warriors of erebor. Other than that, i swapped their fight and strength as Dain's army felt more about brute force than skill to me, maybe that was because they were side by side with the elves, but that was just my interpretation. |

Ok, how about something like this: Iron Hills Dwarf (Dwarf)...9 pts F-----S-D-AW-C 4/4+ 3 6 1 1 4 Equipment: Dwarf Armour Options: Pike...2 pts Shield...1 pt Dwarf Heavy Armour...2 pts Banner...25 pts War Horn...30 pts Special Rules: Phalanx Would you say this was a more balanced profile? Or is this still under-pointed. Also, completely different profiles would definitely be welcomed, as there's no way that an inexperienced player like me should try and make balanced profiles, I'm just giving some ideas. |

"My favourite scene from all of The Hobbit movies was where the Mirkwood Elves jumped over their heads)" - funny we were just talking yesterday at the club about how this was the most awful tactic of all time. We have a defence wall of mightily clad infantry! All shall perish upon our mighty shield wall! Send the silk clad bowmen over the top!!!! |
