Huge day of basing yesterday! 18 60mm bases painted and grassed up.
Also leaves... so many leaves.

I seriously love the greenstuffworld leaf maker. I got a bit carried away and made a tonne, but the leaves are in abundance right now and will disappear soon.

Finally, here's a finished Mirkwood Spider, I think it turned out rather splendid... just wait till you see all 18 of them together!

I concur, I think that they came out splendidly. I look forward to see them all 18 together.

Finished off the Yellow Back Spiders today and that completes all 18 that are needed for the Flies and Spiders scenarios and here they are in all their creepy glory!

So that completes the crafting side of my personal challenge and I am so pleased with the results, the paint jobs were very simple with just a bit of extra effort spent doing the patterns - the bases probably took longer.
I think they look so cool scuttling across the table en mass and the MDF bases look totally fine next to the rest of my collection.

I feel sorry for Bilbo and the Dwarves... hopefully some Elves will come to the rescue!

Old fat spider spinning in a tree!
Old fat spider can't see me!
Attercop! Attercop!
Won't you stop,
Stop your spinning and look for me!

Old Tomnoddy, all big body,
Old Tomnoddy can't spy me!
Attercop! Attercop!
Down you drop!
You'll never catch me up your tree!
-Bilbo; Chapter 8, Fly and the web.

They turned out great and are more than worthy to grant sting its name.
