I should probably point out that I have more High Elves than your client... some of them are not even off the dratted sprues yet :( I was alway hoping GW would revisit them and give us a proper plastic sprue with spears, shields and all but that is probably just a fool's hope.

Just as long as you keep them with you and don't send them to me i can live with that lol

Plastic spears with shields would be nice - I've spent the last few days straightening out finecast spears.

Lots I'm afraid lol

35 spearmen
18 cavalry and then all the heroes that go with the army.

Yeh its certainly pretty daunting having 40+ models looking at me. Thankfully this is the last big batch paint. The next batch is only 18 Rivendell knights and Elladan and Elrohir mtd.

Has the customer already requisted an opposing force, say, some 400 Orcs? (Or maybe Uruks, those are more monotone.. or Goblins, monotone and arriving in even higher quantities!)
If you're getting tired of them already, it doesn't show yet. Unless you're hiding the bad ones at the back, but I'm sure that even your bad ones would shame many supposedly well painted armies!

I love the way he says 'only 18 Rivendell Knights'.... plus I assume the armoured twins on horseback (no Elrond on horsie?)

Respect Kev, don't know how you do it. Brilliant painting in bulk.

I honestly think that work like this will be on sale at Christie's one day, in the way that they used to sell rare Britain's soldiers etc. Only featuring the Ultra Rare or Stupendously well painted miniatures, like these!

Hi guys. Happy new year first of all.

Over christmas my lovely wife banned me from painting commissions and instead handed me a lovingly wrapped parcel saying if you have to paint over the christmas period ... paint this!!! Inside was a Mithril Miniatures Smaug. Really enjoyed painting this and have to admit it feels great to complete a model and be be able to put it into my display case and not in a box for the post office.

Smaugs paint job is complete now but I have not been able to get a decent picture of him due to the lack of daylight and constant rain ( good old british weather). The only picture I took which came out ok was of Smaugs base so i thought I would upload it. I'll photograph the finished piece on saturday weather permitting.

That looks amazing! I cannot wait to see the rest. Are all those gems painted?! Because they look see-through! I'm blown away

Wow! I can just tell from the base that this is going to be one amazing mini. The detail and effort you must have put into the gold, gems, everything is just stunning. A true inspiration and I eagerly anticipate photos of the whole piece :D

Glad you found some time to do your own painting Kev, I know what you mean about the weather, it's dark all the time. The base looks amazing, looking forward to seeing more.

Looking like a nice piece Kev, but more importantly it's one for your display cabinet.
