Excellent painting Chris - you've managed to paint the lake superbly producing a really excellent illusion of depth and shallows. Superb!!!

I like your lake 8) the colors look very good. It will take several maybe even 10 coats of varnish to match the commercial water products. You did a good job with the card it is very difficult to learn how to keep the paper from warping. 8) 8)

very nicely done colours 8) 8)

lakes and water features are really underused in the SBG

Thanks Sid, I'll probably use it as an objective to start with, until I get others painted up (as well as (eventually) my river :))

Thanks King Ondoher :D It is a bit on the small side, but I'm ok with that for now :)

May I enquire as to what Old paints are the equivalents to the new one you used? (I want to paint some water in the well on my Great Beast's base, and I pretty ,uch have almost entirely the old paints).

Thanks GtW :-D I used Scorched Brown (Rhinox Hide), Dark Angels Green (Caliban Green) and Shadow Grey (The Fang).

Cheers DMS :-D Hopefully I can get the others to look the same :)

Thanks Oldman Willow :) The card has warped slightly, but it's not really noticeable, I found putting a metal model or two on it kept it from warping.

Thanks for the painting info, I have Scortched Brown, Dark Angels Green and Shadow Grey. 8) I must remember that when I come to it.

My Mordor Orc Banner, I picked up on impulse a few months ago. I finally painted him up, and decided to use the Witch-King of Angmar's Crown as the design for the free hand. I still need to do a bit of work to the banner, but for now it's done.

You're going to use the Lake (Pond) as an objective? So...what, the Goblins and Dwarves are fighting over exclusive fishing rights? :

The design on your Orc banner is amazing.

 And access to the unique fishing equipment called a 'Gollum', which can be very temperamental, although if used correctly can be a great source of fish and rings :P Although they'd probably be fighting for access to clean water (even though it doesn't look all that clean) :P

Thanks :D

I also bought a Dragon today whilst I was out, but that will have to wait for now, until I have more Goblins ready for action

Thanks Wah Wing! :D And to answer your question on TLA, I weighed the lake down with a couple of metal models to stop it warping and bent it back in the opposite direction to which it was warping to prevent it from doing so, as well as making it from a spare Rider of Rohan box I had lying around instead of a piece of paper. Hope that answers your question :)

That looks great Chris! The flesh tone you went for is spot on - not too bright but colourful enough to really bring the model alive.

Thanks Shieldmaiden :D I was going to go with the flesh tone from the film, but it was just too grey - I'm glad I went for this tone now :)
