Gorgy, he looks good. But on gold, i recommend the sepia wash, rather than the mud wash. 8)

I'd stick with Devlan Mud too. I tried GS for the first time the other day, and it has completely ruined a face I spent about an hour painting (yes, I can do neat if I try), in fact, it looks so bad, it has completely killed any enthusiasm I had for working on the mini at all.

I think once you start blocking in a few more colours, this will really start to pop, as just now, the large amount of still primed areas is a big draw to the eye.

Tut tut! Why would you use sepia :S For flesh colours Ogryn Flesh is the way to go - hence why its the Flesh Wash.

I would actually shade with Dev Mud as well - however if you're feeling adventurous you should try applying Bestial Brown as a wash.

Ok, I have nearly finished him, only real differences from the last update is I have painted the gem and added the Devlan Mud wash to the armour, and also attemted some NMM on the spear, I have also started painting the wood sections:

This is the pic of the NMM which I haven't painted that well... but it is my first go.

The gem looks fantastic, Billy. You really seem to have a knack for painting them. I also really like the armor, it looks very nice. :)

Keep up the good work, Billy. 8)

Thanks Bart :-D

Maybe if you haven't already, you should look at the 'Eavy Metal technique described in the Feburary 09 issue, it's really helpful! 8)

Looking nice. tried the sepia wash yet on the armour? Would add some definition between the cloth and the armour. :)

The hasharin looks stunning!

The only thing I would have done different is the base... I would have gone for a more desert-harad look, and not the boring and unoriginal sand/rock and grass look

...don't get me wrong, I really do love what you did with that simple piece of metal! :P
