Here’s another favourite of mine :

Image

… and in case you’ve missed the link to the rest of them:

Hobbiton Project

@ Wah Wing: there’s a set of forty-five construction drawings waiting to get digitalized but first I’m gonna finish all the miniatures. Also, I have been careful to photograph every building stage. After December 14, some people might want to build their own Hobbiton village.

@ GothmogtheWerewolf: there’s a rabbit hole at the back of hole no. 16; look for your friend, but do not trust to hope…

@ Oldman Willow: I can not wait either, want to see them all on my desk! :D

I wish I could admire it in real life aswell some day!
No place gives more peace then a hobbit's town (well, appart from a graveyard perhaps... which don't have living Sackville-Baggins'es...).

You give me something to dream of mate, I wish I could just shrink myself and walk around in your scenery...

Firstly, that Hobbit hole is also excellent, well done :D :yay: :D 8)

Secondly, I looked at No 16, I did not realise you had about 40 of them, that is one amazing achievement :yay: , [also, I had no luck finding Golfimbul's head, maybe its because the Hobbit lied and he isn't really dead  ]

Hey Adrian! Not seen you around for a while. Hows things? Still busy making Middle Earth?

Hi Dave! Thanks for asking. You are right: I should pay more attention to what’s going on at the One-Ring. But you know, I’m working for the SBA (the Shire’s Building Association) these days. It’s a strangling contract, making long days without any payment whatsoever (Payment? It costs! ), but housing shortage in Hobbiton is almost over and done with.

Time for an update, then. Yes, it’s Middle-earth from dawn ‘til dusk. I have finished thirty nine hobbit holes; Hobbiton no. 34 is in the process of being photographed and will hopefully join the others later this week at the lotrscenerybuilder site.

Here are two of my favourites:

Image

I had my doubts about Hobbiton No. 2a at first, as it appeared to be just a ‘simple’ roof & door hole. Now I think it is one of the best designed smials in Bilbo’s village.

Image

Hobbiton No. 9 lies partly hidden behind some trees. It gave me a bit of a surprise when I finished the model – like seeing its beauty for the first time. But here it is, without any trees to obstruct the view.

I still have about three months time to finish my Hobbiton Project. No. 2, no. 18 and no. 25 of the 1999 collection and no. 17, no. 28 and no. 39 of the Guillermo Del Toro holes have to be build yet. I also want to add the two water holes and the little garden shed.
I’m still not sure about Bag End, though...

Oh, BTW... has anybody by chance downloaded Weta’s ‘Eye of Sauron’ app for iPad from iTunes?
You might want to take a second look at the picture of Barad-dûr in the screenshot.
Because it isn’t the Weta tower that meets the Eye...

It’s mine. :-D

Good to see an update from you again! My word, you have been busy. :yay: Your work sets the bar for all terrain builders, and I'm glad to hear you'll be popping in more regularly soon.
39 hobbit holes completed? You either have great dedication or an addiction there. Either way it is very commendable. Your commitment to recreate Middle-earth in it's entirity is rivalled only by DMS's obsession with owning all the minis GW have ever produced plus all the ones they haven't. Keeps me busy though. 8)

The level of detail on these is mind blowing. There will certainly be some happy hobbit inhabitants! :D
