Cool looking guys, and good idea. Can we have pictures of the rest of the army? 100 dunlendings would look prettying awesome imho. :)
Btw, are they all those hiper-expensive GW metal figures? :o

I took some time to set up my Dunlending Army. I have a bit more than 100 troops:
6 formations Cavalry
10 formations axe-armed Infantry
8 formations bow-armed infantry
3 formations Wildmen
Thryden

so its 169 foot and 13 mounted

I've only posted a few pics here, but you can see more over at http://s495.photobucket.com/albums/rr311/Killerkatanas/

MY GOSH! That must have cost a fortune! Other than the javelins, the horseman fit right in.

Yes, that is part of my terrain. I have two complete Realm of battle sets, numerous hills, and lots of professionaly built buildings and ruins from ESLO.

They are currently making me an Osgiliath bridge. The boards are the same size as a Realm of Battle board, but with a ribver on it. The river has a place for an Osgiliath bridge, which can be made to be intact and ruined. I'm planning to use the boards as not only the Osgiliath crossing, but also when doing the Fords of Isen.

The Dunlending are actually not as expensive as some. You get 3 for $13.25, which is slightly cheaper than the normal $15.00 price. However, many of mine came off of Ebay, painted, and I stripped them. Dragon did all the painting--I just do the conversions and terrain.

Alas, all this great stuff and nobody to play!

The whole army together looks awesome. Really good job on collecting all of that, must've cost quite a lot even with eBay bargains, even more if you paid to have everything painted.

The board is designed to fit with GW's Realm of Battle and transition with the rivers made by ELSO. The boards are 2' x 2' and the river is 8" wide, narrowing to 6". One section is made as the crossing and place for the bridge and another as a ford. The bridge can be made to be one or 2 sections, and is wide enough for a WOTR base. I don't have photos right now, but the bridge can also be modified so that it is damaged. Here are some photos of the boards and bridges:

I plan to use the bridge to represent Osgiliath, and then take the bridge off and have it be the Fords of Isen.

That is crazy Killerkatanas. Can't believe I haven't found this topic sooner. That has to be one of the rarest lotr armies. Men of Dunlend are not even their own faction, they're part of Isengard yet I see no Uruks. Pretty damn cool. Too bad you don't have anyone to play against. Where are you from, and what made you decide to make a Dunlend army?

Thanks for the comments. I live in Southern California and frequent the Bunker, but nobody plays there, nor at any of the GW shops around--it is dead!

I have other armies as well, and they dwarf my Dunlending. My Uruk army can easily be 10,000 points. I have 136 crossbows in that force. I have a very large Mordor army that I posted a picture of at this site. It contains enough to do probably 12,000+ points and contains at least 3 companies of all the rare units. The Gondor and Rohan forces are also like this, with at least 3 companies of every type of troop. I have about 100 Riders of Rohan, 48 Guards and 24 Guard Cavalry. My Easterling force contains harad, Khand, Corsair, and Rhun troops, and also contains 5 Mumakil. I have a small Wood Elf force and will shortly add the HIgh Elves to it. I've collected 120 High Elf Spears for it. I have no Dwarves, Hobbits or Goblins, and very few ents.

I also have lots of terrain; ruined and intact Osgiliath buildings, Rohan homes, and Harad structures, plus 2 complete Realm of Battle sets. I have photos of my board at this site.

My goal is to do a giant campaign, using a map, but It is not certain if this will be able to be accomplished.

GW must love you. You're one dedicated lotr fan. Do you have at least a friend or family member that you can game with? And it would be nice if you made a gallery for your photos, makes it easier to check out you miniatures.

It seems Lotr is just about dead everywhere except the U.K.

Are you made of money? That has to have cost many thousands of dollars!

Too bad we're all far away. We should organize a One-Ring North American event in three years time. Just a passing thought.
