I agree, the King and the Troll are very good, especially the King.

Again a long time between drinks for these updates. However, I've made some progress.

First, I painted the watchers of karna and the golden king of harad for the painting challenge. I'm not that keen on the overall colour scheme for the king. I think it's a bit busy (too many colours going on). The red cloth underneath the throne doesn't look right to me. Maybe I will eventually paint it black and paint a red eye onto it.

I also did my first freehand on the back banners for the khand foot soldiers. Pretty basic design but I'm happy with the result. I am still working on the khand king chariot. It's taking a lot longer than I expected (I get distracted easily).

Very nice painting. 8) I like the colours. Maybe if you used a more purple colour rather than the pinkish one? :?

I actually really like the king, I think the colors look good they're just a bit too bright I think, but I think it looks cool. The free hand is nicely done on the warriors, nice straight edges and cool designs. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for all the feedback. I agree the king looks too bright - but it's such a pain the difference between how a figure looks in reality and how it looks in a photo. It seems you have to put lots of dark wash on figures for them to look decent in a photo, but then they look too dark in real life. That's ok for figures that should be dark like orcs and uruks, but some figures I want to look brighter in the hand and these are usually too bright in a photo. :?

Thats very true about the photos edge, to be honest I'm not a fan of the sculpt but I think your paint job is outstanding. Great attention to detail :) Also a fan of the freehand on the khandish warriors!

If you used purple they would look like everyone else's figures.
Well done :!: :!: :!:

I finished the King and Chariot - finally! I just have the warrior and chariot to do and that will be it for my Khand army. Light was dodgy here today so last photo is with the flash on so colours looked washed out a bit. Hard to get a decent photo from the front too. End of excuses!
