Really coming along great, those arches have been week constructed. There's little bits of detail starting to develop nicel.

I managed to get 15 metres worth of sheeting ranging from 25-50mm thickness for about $80 Australian. Mostly just offcuts and leftovers, so I got a good deal. I'm using 'blue' or 'pink' foam as it's known elsewhere. It's rather difficult to source down here in Australia (particularly for a good price), but I hear it's readily available in the US. Not sure how the pink foam situation is in Ireland, though. :)

Structurally, it's basically done. I just need to sort out the battlements and the tops of the outer towers. After that, there's plenty of detailing to tackle.

The addition of the caves is such a great idea! In the eventual battle report you can have eowyn defending the civilians from the uruks!

Going great guns on this. Don't forget some green and brown to bring a little life into the rocks and stonework.

I've added some stains, but doesn't seem to come across as well on camera.

After painting the following section of cliff, it came across as a little flat and didn't quite match the rest of the rock formations. So I conducted a quick patch fix to remedy this. The end result gives the cliff a little more contrast.

It's been slow work over Christmas and New Years, but I've been plodding on with the project every now and then.

Those stains do come across in the photos, maybe not as much as real life.
But they do make those areas look alive, more realistic. It is suprisingly what colours you need to throw in to me grey look right.
The whole things is slowly making my jaw drop, fantastic piece you are putting together.
Have a look at this link for creating moss, you could have some use for it in a few areas.

What a fantastic model! I love it!
All the little nooks and crannies will be brilliant in a game.
It really does look fabulous.
Helm's Deep is on my 'in my dreams' to do list as I don't have the space for it. If I ever move house, I'll refer to your WIP for some cool ideas. For the time being, I will just watch the great progress on your amazing model. :)
