The Model actually stands up perfectly, it just looks like it won't because on the rearing position of the body.

If you put some arrows in the back of its legs, or maybe even a (broken) sword, then that would explain his pose perfectly. It would also make sense to have them in the back of his legs as a)that's his least armoured place and b)I wouldn't want to go near the front of that thing!

The arrows is a good idea. Another thing that would be cool is to add some casualties to the base.

Okay, so he's baring his teeth in pain at the sky trying no to roar cause then the other trolls would tease him. :lol:

I agree 100%, tirno.alyanorno. I believe the pose needs a litle narrative to explain it, and that idea is great. The arrows lodged in the back of his legs would look great.

I have been making some arrows recently, so i'll add some above his armour and some on his legs, so now there is no reason to reposition is head :-D

Today I have finished painting Khamul!

I painted the red colour on the thing around his neck aswell as on the robes. :roll:

I am also close to finishing the 1st company of Morannon Orcs:

C & C is welcome as always!

That remids me of a frightening video I saw, involving a hippo, and a zookeeper.

Anyways...

Good work on Khamul. I like how you painted the cloth around the neck red as well, it really helps blend him in better with an easterling army.

As much as I'll sound like a hypocrite...

You really need to thin your paints a little more. Especially the metals. The detail of Khamul's face is all but obliterated.

Other than that, well done, I too am a fan of the red cowling on him (now, where have I seen that before :roll:

) and I like how you have kept it quite muted.

The Moranonn Orcs are looking good too, although I'm not sure I like the red romper suit look.

Yeah, I know, I really needed the paint to be thinner but the Mounted version is much better! :wink:

The reason I added the extra red on him is cause I thought there was too much black (even though Ringwraiths are supposed to be pure black

) and the extra red would break it up a bit.

I painted the Morannon Orcs with red because the picture on the box set has them painted in red... do you think on some Orcs I should use Brown instead?

Yeah. In fact, it might look better with a more reddish brown, than just pure red.

It's a matter of personal preference really.

For my Mordor models, I painted the standard Mordor Orcs in a variety of brown, greys and any other drab colour I could get my hands on. For the Morannon Orcs, I went for a slightly more regimented look, as befitting their martial status, and kept all the jerkins, shirts and coats a muted red, whilst the trousers were all brown.

Of course, you could always mix it up a bit and keep the red trousers on some of them, giving them a brown or grey top half, as there would still be some variety, even amongst these Orcs.

I think ill go that way.

Ill also thin down some Chaos Black (thicker that Badab Black) and apply it to the red cloth to make the cloth look old and weathered.

Or you could wash it with Badab Black or Devlan Mud, then use the same red with some grey mixed in, to drybrush it, as this will create a faded look on the areas that would see most wear and tear.

Well I have tried Badab Black and it doesn't have much of an affect, thats why I am adding more Chaos Black to it so then it might actually be visible.

I don't have Delvan Mud, but what colour would you thin down to look like Delvan Mud the most?
