Do you have a particular technique for painting metal? I really like how you've painted the shields for the corsairs and since I'll be starting a Gondor army soon and have difficulty achieving a smooth finish without the glitter effect I'm very much interested in how you painted them.

Best way to get rid of the glittery effect in the metals is to use washes, it dulls them down a little, but also removes the glitter :)

I got all the metal done on the Uruk hai yesterday, hoping to maybe get all the skin or cloth done today.
Will get a load of photos done this week :)

Also just realised how many armies I own..
Spiders,
Uruak hai Scouts
Corsairs
Easterlings
Goblins

Minas Tirith (knights and on foot force)
Rohan
Dead of Dunharrow
Grey Company
Dwarves
Wood Elves

Also have to ally in.. the fellowship, a dragon, a cave drake, lots of ringwraiths, saruman, and lots of other models that arent in the army lists..

Lots to paint this year...

Fantastic Corsairs! I really like your Arbalester conversions as well as you're leaders, the Bo'sun looks good and I think the plastic hook on the captain is a nice addition.

The Dragon looks great too! Nice work Dezartfox :)

Cheers :)

Almost finished the uruk Hai, Lurtz, 8 shields, 8 swords, 4 archers. Decided to count Lurtz as Mahur, I really don't like Mahur's model, and Lurtz doesnt have any cool rules, so thought I would combine the two and make UBER LURTZ.

Just one more stage to do on the bases and then I will take some photos :)

I'm definitely looking forward to see what you do with the spiders!
I once picked them up from ebay for about £3 for 10 of these goblin-spiders in the meaning of using them for LOTR aswell! They are however, just like hundreds of other mini's still somewhere in a box, drawer or bag .. untreated...

It's Huuuuuuge, I plan to use it as a Cave Drake for my Spiders :)

Going to take photos now :)

Those Uruk Scouts look incredible, especially as a group. The White hands you've painted on are perfect. Big Beasty looks good too, I'm looking forward to seeing it painted. Nice job on the spiders too.

Cheers :)

Think I may repaint the few spiders I have done, not liking the red at the moment,

I recently completed Aragorn's Quest, and really enjoyed fighting the giant spiders..
http://img.gamespot.com/gamespot/images ... een004.jpg
I think thats from around Amon Sul, get to fight some wolves and some spiders before the uruk-hai. Quite like the colour scheme of them too, so might do a boney colour (which I can EASILY do.. painted Deathwing for a few years ;) )
More progress soon!

That Heresy-spider is definately one of the best you can find in my opinion! And cheap!
It's a very great sculpt! Great quality!

I used it in a diorama with other Heresy-figures for a contest of them... (if I only had read the rules properly, I should have known I had to add more figures of other companies aswell, even figures I had laying around would have done the job... Doh! lol )

Great job on the Uruk-scouts and spiders! They've turned out great!!

And... you must be one of the speediest painters delivering very nicely painted figs on such a short time! Mind if send you a couple of hundreds boring figs to paint? :P (kidding)

And yeah I am pretty speedy.. ;)

I've got a 750 marine army to paint to "Best Painted Army"standard in a month now, so might not be too much LOTR stuff this week

Love your uruk-hai, you've done a really good job on them.

Are you going to put your marines on B&C at all? I have seen some of your other stuff on there and its fantastic. 8)
