The title says it all. This is not my best work, mind you, not even close, this is my speed painting. And, I must say, I impressed myself painting 20 Morannon Orcs in one day

On the bottom is a converted Captain. 8)

What I can see is good but maybe some close ups?

Here's a closer pic of the Captain, he's pretty much representative of the rest, he was painted the same way 8)

20 Orcs down, 28 more to go.....

And another WIP, debating whether or not to sell, the man (err...Maiar) himself:

I like the captain, he looks like one of the Goblins which has the same cool pose :D And I like the rest of course too. Sauron looks like he is going to be great painted!

Maybe the clothing could be a little bit brighter, but the picture isn't good enough to be sure about that..

The armour on sauron is looking great!

How much extra are you going to sell them for on ebay? Double their original cost?

very good . . . the sauron needs some chainmail touching up . . . there is just one or two little spots of metal showing through.
overall it is worth quite alot . . . 20 orcs in one day? thats insane lol.
great work

Nice work Josh! how many hours did it take to paint the Morannons?

Interesting work. I would like to see how Sauron turns out, with larger pictures. The orcs are quite good considering the time you spent on them, I can hardly do better on my goblins in more time. However, everything is quite dark, a little too much wash on the moranons?

20 orcs in one day, yes. I even impressed myself. Glad you like 'em.

I worked from 8:00 AM to 12:00, stopped for lunch and a break, picked up again at 1:00 and worked till somewhere between 3 and 4 PM.

Unfortunately I can't finish Sauron until I finish these orcs, but I might have an update up by Thursday or so. 8)

As for the orcs being very dark, I'm tossing around the idea of a lighter highlight. They really are lighter in real life, the pics are a bit dark.

From what I can see they look pretty good Josh!
I like the captain a lot! 8)

Looking forward to seeing more.

Thanks King Elessar :-D

Small update, got the metals done on 6 more today (Was super-busy today mowing a 4-acre field, otherwise I'd have finished all of these six orcs for sure)

I don't know what's up with the lighting, they're a lot brighter in real life. But I also tried some blood spatters, didn't turn out exactly like I had hoped.

And got a teeny bit more done on Sauron, namely redoing the cloth, which still needs a couple more highlights

I would add some mithril silver highlights to the armour imo. The armour is just too flat at the moment.

I'm a greedy guy

Seriously, though, I feel I should maybe charge more. I will say that I had the thoroughly torturous process of undercoating 4 dozen minis by hand. Almost broke me

Anduril, i personally think you should have based those, they will sell easier and better with just plain and simple painted sand bases with static grass...

Thanks for the suggestion, but I once tried so sell some dwarves that were based, this one dude sent me a message and said "I would have bought those but I play on a sand board and so those dumb rock bases would stick out and look dumb." :-X

I actually don't have any modelling sand, etc. at the moment anyway

But I might do it next time.

Any suggestions on what to buy next? :?

Do something generic which everyones likes

how about like 12 troops and banner and captain for mordor orcs, minas tirith or something

Also, tell us how much these sell for :)

Well, I was thinking maybe something a little more fun to paint. The White Council looked cool :-D

But, whatever sells best.......

Cool, good luck with the auctions! 8)

Although, maybe for your next bid, you should paint just 1 metal hero, and paint and base him really well. You should probably also put the starting price up high, because even if you only get 1 bid, it will still sell. 8)

Yeah! :D Both auctions just sold, for $82.00 USD.

I'm debating what to get next. :) BTW, here's the site I'm ordering from http://www.chaosorc.com/index.php?cPath=36&osCsid=33363facceda6e9793d36839e9dbc689.

After the cost of shipping the minis, I've still got around $75.00 USD to spend. In my recent WOTR army poll, Elves, Mordor and Dwarves were most popular. So I'll probably be getting some Dwarf and Elf stuff :)

Maybe some rangers....... :-D
