Jest getting back into LotR this is my 500pt Easterling army: The white stuff on the base is vallejo White Pumice, makes excellent basing material, doesnt need glue and is cheaper than GW sand. I've had a box of Army of the Dead since WOTR came out, so decided to make a small good force using them Here's my test model: |

It looks like a well planned army, is that a hornblower in the middle? Nice job on the Warrior of the Dead by the way. |

Nice looking army, do those bowmen have spears? Are you planning on going forthe regular gold and red scheme or something different? |

Cool!! On GW's site there is a gallery of easterlings (and khandish) painted in different ways, personally I think the black-and-silver one looks great. Here: http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/conte ... Id=4000008 Can't wait for the next update! |

Well, if I wasn't busy with two other armies, then I'd collect easterlings and would certainly paint them like that. Maybe later I will....*starts planning* One of my school buddies showed it to me, he is making his guys like that too. That AOtD warrior looks as good as the ones by GW, if not better. |

Very nice dead guy! Very soft shades! Can't wait to see the easterlings-force! I always like to stare at easterlings-troops, but for some reason, I never feel like painting them myself... (it's the gold I bet, I'm horrible at painting clean metallics) Good luck! |

Cheers In between commission work I managed to slap some paint onto Amdur and a Dragon knight Both the gold and red are really simple schemes: Prime grey, wash with devlan (this helps my eyes more than does anything...) Gold: Tin bitz shining gold chainmail devlan mud Red: Merchrite red blood red orage devlan mud. the blacker areas were done with just a few washes of black unsure on the base colour as of now, thinking parched earth or deserty. |

There's some very impressive shading and highlighting going on in those photos. Looking forward to seeing more. |
