Post subject: | Cavalry Conversions Part 2...Gondorian Outpost |
Here are a few pictures of my Gondorian Outpost cavalry. These mounted troops arrived to defend the White city in it's hour of need. When the Beacons were lit, all of the soldiers manning the outposts were called home to aide in the defense of Minas Tirith. These are not Knights, but battle hardened veterans who patrol the far reaches of Gonor and spend their time fending off Orc Bands and Harad invaders. Nothing fancy here, just warriors willing to fight. The fgures are mostly Conquest Mounted Normans with some bits and pieces from various other plastic makers. The painting style may not be to everyones liking, but it's what I like my armies to look like. It's just my own personal taste. |

I agree - I think these look brilliant - and a great idea and back story to make them fit. I assume the white trees on the shield and banner are freehand? They look great and help tie the force to Gondor. The blue works really well. Great work! |

Thanks Gentlemen. The shields are not freehand, but printed out on paper, glued to the shields and then sealed with flat (matte) varnish. They look really good when done with this method. On my original posting several people commented about my painting style being too "colorful" with not enough shading and highlighting. I'm glad that you guys liked the way that they came out. I've got 3 more units to show off here. I really appreciate the comments. Thanks. |

Really great work across all your threads mate, love the banner in this one especially! Is that a printout and if so, where can I get one? |

Jack The printout was on one of the flag sites that sell LOTR flags. I used "Paint" to play with it and get it to look how I wanted. Not hard. I will try to take some close ups of the models for all those who requested them. Perhaps between Christmas and New Years. |
