Hello everyone! It has been years since I posted here, but have been keeping track of all the amazing stuff that is on here. I found the time is ripe for me to start actively contributing. Especially as it may give me some additional motivation to really get my painting going!

Note: I'm using google photos as photobucket is no longer an option. I hope everyone can view the pictures and that the quality is decent enough to see what I'm doing ;). Will make better pictures when I have a decent setup.

I have always been especially attracted by the Balin's Tomb scene and have been working off and on for years on various scenery pieces. The one that I'm quite happy with, and hopefully will finish someday is the one below. It is a modular piece of four 30x30cm tiles (1x1 ft?). One of which just needs painting. The pillars are removable for easy miniature placement.

In between I've been working on a couple of little scenery pieces like these.

And currently I'm painting up some goblin town figures, along with some scenery pieces.

Hope you guys like it! Will put on more photo's of my progress, mostly just to keep myself motivated. Cheers!

I love what you're doin at the moment. I'm currently painting for the JourneyBook campaigns (currently Fellowship of the Ring) and I'm hoping I'll be able to do somethings like this for the Moria scenarios.

The roofless Rohan tower is great. How do you work with balsa? Everytime I try a round cut, it splinters and looks awful.

@GreatKhanArtist, the tower is actually not built from balsa. I believe it was from left-over wood from one of those wine boxes. Its sturdier than balsa but you need a bigger saw ;)

Thanks all for your replies! Yesterday I've made some progress on the big goblin king. Was in a painting rather than a building mood

I'm pretty happy with him so far, but am doubting if I should highlight more. He looks pretty smooth now and don't want to negate that. Perhaps I could mix a light flesh tone (elf flesh) with reikland flesh wash. Currently I only used washes on him (except the brown on the staff).
