Hey guys, My very own fantasy wargame, Frostgrave, is due out from Osprey in July. Basically, each player controls a wizard, an apprentice, and a gang of mercenary soldiers and leads them into the frozen ruins of an ancient magical city looking for lost loot! It's got 80 different spells, a full campaign system, random encounter table, a bestiary and such. The game is being supported by a miniature line from North Star Miniatures, who are currently running a special 'Nickstarter' pre-order program, which has all kinds of fun extra little bits: http://nstarmagazine.com/FROSTGRAVE.htm Anyway, I'm pretty proud and excited. If anyone has any question about the game, I'd be happy to answer them. |

Looks like a fun game to play. Just have 2 questions about it: 1. As there is little to no information about this game, I would like to know how you play this game in general (bordsetup, enemies, ect.). Not too much as you should not spoiler everything. 2. How do you 'get' these random encounters you are talking about? I look forward to your reply. |

OverlordShepard - there is a lot of info out there, but it is spread out across the internet. Here's some links that might interest you - A blog post I wrote about building a warband: http://therenaissancetroll.blogspot.co. ... rband.html Here's a couple of links about people doing playtest games, including one from the games editor: http://plasticmalpractice.blogspot.co.u ... grave.html http://corblogme.blogspot.co.uk/2014/01 ... est-3.html As for the 'monsters' which are controlled by a simple AI, they are either dictated by a specific scenario (there are 10 in the book), or there is a Random Encounter table for those who want to create their own scenarios. There is no specific mechanism in the game for causing a random encounter - it is left to the players to decide when and if they want to use it. |

Yup, that's me! I can't spend all my time painting Lord of the Rings miniatures! |

Hi Joe5mc, I picked the rules up a little while back. Great work! Once I have got a few other things done LotR wise, I will be playing a few games with my Northstar minis. It is a great looking game and the couple of read-throughs I have done have ceratinly whetted my appetite, although, as I am a big Conan fan, I might move the setting to Vanaheim, Hyperborea or maybe a desert arena. |

I love this game! I haven't had a chance to play yet, but I think my niece will love making her own warband. We're Egyptian themed, cause why not? Anyone want to see pictures of terrain and wandering monsters? |
