Ok so, somehow, i ended up putting a tournament together with the people from the Titan's wargames club ~(where that 500pt tournament was held in may). Well this time it is a single army 300pt tournament, but don't worry, we've resurrected oaths and whatnot to brighten up everyone's day. The venue is this lovely place: http://www.northlondonimps.org/kontact/index.html The date to slap in your diary is the 24th of march, as that is when this bad boy will occur. There will be 5 games, all of which will be rolled for in The Hobbit Rulebook/relevant source-book. Everything must be painted, conversions and proxies are fine, as-long as they roughly represent what they are supposed to, and your opponent knows what they represent before each game. After every game you are awarded 'Tournament Points', and it goes without saying that tournament points are what win you the tournament! You are awarded the following per game: 5 points for a win 2 points for a draw 0 point for a loss The oaths are as follows: Merciful leader: The enemy leader is down to 1 wound or no fate by the end of the game (models who use their will as fate must go down to 25% of their original will) Wasted potential: Nominate an enemy hero/monster at the start of the game, kill this model by the end of the game. Hardcore leader!: Roll a d6 at the start of the game and show your opponent, the result of that is how many kills your leader has to score by the end of the game. Cowardly tactics: Slain more enemy models with missile weapons and magical powers that deal direct damage than the enemy. Nerves of steel!: Do not break. How oaths will work for this tournament is that the rulepack (coming soon) will feature 5 printable cards. Before each game choose a card and show it to your opponent. If you complete that oath you gain 3 victory points for completing an oath, obviously you can only complete each oath once. Completing Oaths will grant you 2 tournament points: Additionally, each player has 2 'sportsmanship points' they must give to a single opponent they thought were exceedingly sportsmanlike. These points are awarded at the end of the day, tallied up, and added to that players tournament points. An official record sheet/oath cards will be made available soon for everyone to download/fill out/ print off. Attendance will cost £10 as of now, if over 15 people confirm they are going, this will drop to £8. Until then, here is a list of everyone confirmed to go, please let me know if you are interested and i'll add you to the list Check the thread of exactly who is going! However i reckon there will be more to come in the next few days, any questions? |

Yeah price would be handy. Sounds good. Don't see the point of the clutch scenario though. |

Clutch scenario has been removed, i put it in there as a sort of gamble to see if people were as good at their favourite game type as they thought, but if the people don;t like it, i'll remove it! Also the points per game have been amended (you now gt 5 points for a win, 2 for a draw, 0 for a loss) |

All looking good. One question, it says the 5 sportsmanship points are given to 'fellow players' i.e. more than 1. Does this mean you could give 1 point to each of your opponents? I only ask because I think this might be open to abuse, giving 1 point to each opponent would reduce the impact of the sportsmanship points when working out the final result. I think I'd rather that you had to give your 5 (or 3 or 4 or whatever) sportsmanship points to one player at the end of the day. Also, Matron Grant's name is Chris He's in Florida at the moment, I'll badger him when he comes back. |

Ok, the sportsmanship points now work like this: you only have two, which you can only give to 1 player. |

how about you you do it like the GT/ ToS? At the end of the day, you write down the ticket number of the guy you enjoyed playing the most and he gets and extra point and in the case of a tie, the player with the most sporting votes wins. |

Put me down as a definite. The oaths are a nice touch. I would just mention that although we are scoring tournament points there won't be enough time between some of the rounds to tally up and match players based on points, so it would be random match-ups for this event. Are we recording Victory Points as well for the tie breaker? How about prizes? |

How about a simple winner moves up a table, loser moves down a table system? |

Similar to what I had in mind. I think you could end up facing the same opponent that way though and would also be problematic when two people are trying to move to the same board? Easily rectified I know, but how about Good players all line up on the same side of the boards, with the Evil players opposite, there will undoubtedly be an uneven mix of good and evil but this would at least maximise good vs evil matchups. After each round good players move to the right, evil players to the left. Makes for a very quick and simple shuffle and everyone faces a different opponent and plays on a different board. |

This just occurred to me; the club will likely not possess enough markers for everyone to use in the 'domination' game type. Is it ok if everyone can bring 3-5 objective markers for that game type please? |

You really don't need to be that specific about marker sizes. Spare 25mm bases would be fine and the last time I played Domination we used pennies for markers. |

Yup, that is a good point, i changed the op. I only added a size cos that's how my group play objectives, sorta forgot there is a world outside my own. |

Being on the other side of the planet I can't make it. But could you do me a favour? Rename Girly Tactics to Cowardly Tactics or something else that isn't demeaning to women. Thanks. |
