What is the best way to apply two or more different coloured flocks to bushes?

I intend to flock hedgerows so that they would look natural and I would like to break the monotony of only one colour by using two or more flocks, for example light, medium and dark greens. Would it be better to apply flock as layers on top of each other or mix the different coloured flocks in advance?

I mix most of the flock and it works fine but I have never tried layers.

mix them.
Keep track of how much of which type,color etc. that you use.
this way you can go back and make more.

I use a little spoon that I get from the pharmacists at my local drug store.they use it to measure powdered medicines.

if i have any left over,I just store it for another project.

I agree mix them first..but I dont use the spoon that you can get from the pharmacy...I use the little teaspoon that you can find in the cutlery draw...you know the ones?...you use them for measuring sugar when you make a coffee.

Flock or lichen? i.e. grass or foliage?

I've made some hedgerows for Flames of War and I mix 3 different colors to then hot-glue to a dowel and wire armature on top of the actual hedgerow embankments cast out of resin.

Foliage, but since the hedgerow is based on the traditional scouring pad approach, I'm just brushing glue onto the pad and adding coarse flock to it to represent leaves, the same way I would be flocking ground. It looks OK if you think of it belonging to a well-tended hobbit garden.

Actually, I've run into the same problem when texturing ground with Antenociti's rubber-based stuff. I have several colours, but getting the borders blended has always been a bit tricky. However, the difference here is that on the ground I like to do different coloured patches blending to each other, and on the bushes I should probably have the colours mixed more evenly (i.e. pre-mixed flock, as others have suggested).
