Balin’s tomb has been desecrated

What you see is permanent damage.

Fortunately for me, this is goblin infested Moria and not Rivendell… so I was thinking along the lines of rust/battle damage/blood stain maybe? Any painting suggestions?

My other option was to lay a thin layer of green stuff on the top… Good idea? Bad idea?

All suggestions are welcomed.

Thank you!

(don't ask me how it got like this :P )

I only have the MoM box set at the moment, so I don’t exactly have anything to trade. I appreciate the offer though DMS.

Not necessarily looking for ways to fix it, more like ways to cover it up (green stuff layer, rust…).

Put yourself in my shoes!

Surely there are some creative geniuses out there!

Unless this forum is filled with “burn it with fire and buy a new one” mentalities like myself hehe.

Well you can use a hobby knife to put little nicks and chips into the damaged lower half. Thus giving it a defaced by goblins look. I'd practice on scrap plastic first.

I'd sand it down. Then use filler to fill the gaps. Sand down again. Then etch in the runes.

The cave troll smashes the tomb in the film. Damage it some more, perhaps remove the lid and break it up into smaller bits with jagged edges and then put it back on.

Thanks to a friendly soul (or should I say spectre) I'm getting a new one.

BUT I do appreciate all the suggestions. Might go ahead and take some chunks of it.

@StickyFingersss I was thinking blood too, but I'm not sure how to go about making "x amount of years old" blood stains.

For blood stains grab yourself a paint called Tamiya Clear red - use neat and when dry paint or stipple on some black wash into the center of the bloodstains - works a treat 8)

Balins tomb will be in the post 2moro.
