I am going to be recreating the battle for helmps deep on an epic scale (with sbg rules of course) in a month or 2 with my freind. It is a big project so we have time and we want the helms deep to look amazing. If I were to make the terrain peace it would like god-awful so if anyone knows a place I could buy one that would be great, I mainly want the front part as the outer walls I can do myself. I was considering the GW fortress gate and adding the hill and ramp but its not very Helms deepish . I will be putting up a battle report with pics if anyones interested. Thanks |

Good luck with the project! Games Workshop used to have an article about how to make Helm's Deep, but I think they have deleted it after updating their website. What materials are you using? |

You will probably be hard pressed to get the official GW Helm's Deep now for a reasonable price, so I'd suggest just picking up The Two Towers Journey Book, as it has a complete guide to building the fortress. |

@Commodore... yeah i'd be interested in a Helms Deep battle report. That would be great. I took the simple route when i built mine, i bought the GW model and built the deeping wall. I followed the building guide from the Two Towers book, it's quite easy to follow. The only thing i changed was the ramp, the ramp they build is too small and cut from one piece of foam. It's difficult to make the ramp curve with the foam. My ramp is two pieces of thin card either side, and the thicker foam card on the top and bottom of the ramp. It's nowhere near as good as the other links But here's mine, only took a few weeks Apologies for the picture quality of the last few. Had the flash on. http://i491.photobucket.com/albums/rr27 ... eep004.jpg http://i491.photobucket.com/albums/rr27 ... eep001.jpg http://i491.photobucket.com/albums/rr27 ... eep002.jpg http://i491.photobucket.com/albums/rr27 ... f46934.jpg http://i491.photobucket.com/albums/rr27 ... 60532e.jpg http://i491.photobucket.com/albums/rr27 ... msdeep.jpg http://i491.photobucket.com/albums/rr27 ... ep0112.jpg |

Just for reference, HERE is a battle report using my Helm's Deep. It was written by one of the other players (Matt). Lots of fun! |
