does anyone have any ideas for the road? i was thinking perhaps 5mm foamboard, sanded down at the edges and then the stone grooves cut into it with a hobby knife? |

You should try textured plasticard, it should work. Here's what I might use: http://www.thehobbykingdom.com/ProductD ... 3fCID%3d54 Browse the site, they have a whole range of plasticard. |

Instead of painting it, get some spray-paint. You can get some cheap grey spray-paint from somewhere like Wilkinsons. Were you going to do ruined buildings or un-ruined buildings? |

Here's a nice Osgiliath board that I saw over on The Palantir website if you want some inspiration. Very tasty, I reckon. I apologize for posting such a big picture in your thread but I didn't want to resize it as you would find it harder to make out details. |

Here is some more Osgiliath information from Revolutionary posted on The Palantir (he is very talented and the images/descriptions give good guidance on the sort of steps you need to take to create great Gondorian terrain). http://www.thepalantir.org/ca/terrain/r ... ev002.html And this from Ninjameister on HDR: http://www.tabletop-hdr.de/gelaendebau/ ... jameister/ Check out framecaplib for screengrabs from RotK for more inspiration. |

Nice links Chris. I would make some myself, but that would mean I would have to start painting my Gondor army to play on it so I'll leave it for now. |
