Hey Guys, I am working on building a version of Helm's deep, using two boxes of Castle Craft that I got on Ebay. But I am having two major questions that I hope someone can help me with. 1) Does anyone have the instructions in english, as the ones I have are in Russian. 2) what did you find works the best to hold the pieces together (the tabs. Plastic glue, or something else). As a Third question, what do you guys think of the new liquid Green stuff, does it work well

 Much better :!:
I can not tell much about the kit parts, windows and arches. It looks like it will make a good size fortress with two kits. I can not tell how thin the plastic is  Test a small section with plastic glue first  Post lots of WIP photos it looks like a good find :)

Liquid Green Stuff is useful for filling small holes and imperfections, but it isn't actually liquid green stuff - it's just really thick green paint.

have been trying out the kits, I find some small problems getting them to stay together with the tabs that are included. Plastic glue has been infective at the moment, but more testing is going on at the moment. Pictures when availible,

One thing I will definitely note to people that look at this as an alternative to a GW castle, 1) the kit is coming from Russia, so unless you can translate. you have to look a lot at the pictures. 2) While the figures included in it are 28mm, they are serious Devlan Mud plastic, and somehow the actually castle itself seems a bit smaller in scale.

Been fooling around with these castle system and it has some problems with spacing in between pieces and the castle tower is definitely smaller scale. I will put up pictures later.

This looks like a useful kit. I like the gate and round tower. I would use wood filler for the gaps instead of liquid green stuff.

The Kit I got has enough for two of the round towers, which would actually work really well for the Hornberg from helm's deep as you can make a very long tower. the side Square, I put together using Plastic glue and it is seriously solid enough to hold five or six miniatures now. I will look into the filler, as you can see it really needs it.

I got the two kits for about 100 buck including shipping. The shipper is in Russia, but he has a bunch of kits like this listed. Some are actually even together.

This is how it looks with Both figures and the siege ladders on it. so keep up with any question. This actually seems to be a steal for what I got it for. It also works really, really well with GW ruins.

So I was able to get three square towers built plus the retaining wall between them. I did include a door way to be a culvert for the wall, like Helms deep. it could also be a way for a character to sneak in and out like Gollum. Brian

The fort looks good :!: 8)
Soon you will be ready to paint  This old Battle Master tower has large gaps much your wall sections. I filled the gaps with wood filler then painted the whole thing with thin drywall filler for texture. I primed it black with cheap spray paint. I let my 5 year old sponge paint it. I touched it up with a wash and a dry brush. She is very proud of it. You can add texture with just paint if you use a natural sponge.

Use several earth colors on a piece of paper and just blot them on. With a little practice you can get a good fast result. A little touch up with a dry brush and you will be ready to go.Use craft paint for terrain and buildings. The GW brands are way too costly.
