Scratchbuilt piece that fits many venues in Middle Earth.
Those "rocks" are bark chips.
Trees are SuperTrees.
It's all home made.

Nevinsrip, it's, unquestionably, among the most realistic and inspiring terrain pieces I have seen! What turf and flowers did you use?

Looks very nice. The grass and rock color are top notch. Supertrees are some of the very best looking products out there. I think they are a bit fragile for wargaming. 8) 8) 8)

The turf is just a mix of all different blends. I also used static grasses.
All of the tufts, bushes and flowers are home made by me.

SuperTress are stronger than you think. If you soak them in Matte Medium before priming them they stay flexible. After adding leaves, I seal them with Dulcote, which locks it all in.

You can also use hairspray to seal them. Well done

Brilliant terrain, really lovely.
Bark chips make great rocks, very natural looking.
Do you have a game to use it on?

Excuse my second question, but how did you make the tuft and bushes?

You can find them quite often in garden centres or kids parks.

Absolutely beautiful Nevinsrip, as usual. SuperTrees eh? Not heard of these before and I must look them up.

Edit, 30 seconds later: Damn, they are an illegal import into Australia since they are plant material.

Thanks gentlemen for the kind words. Ill try my best to answer any questions.

"Excuse my second question, but how did you make the tuft and bushes?"
The turf is mixture of all different Woodlands Scenics, Noch or Heki fine and medium grade turfs, that every model RR shop carries. I take a plastic shoebox, with a tight fitting lid, and throw in handfulls of liigh and medium greens. I add in whatever else that I think looks good as basic ground cover. Sometimes common spices like oregeno or parsley. Sometimes loose teas. Whatever you think will improve the look.
That is the basic ground cover.
After that, I use various static grasses applied with a "fly swatter" static grass applicator. By varying lengths and colors you can get any look that you wish to represent. There are dozens of YOUTUBE videos on the "fly swatter" thing.

The bushes are offcuts of the Supertrees. Simple!

DAGS......I believe that there is an equivelant plant, grown in your neck of the woods.
Check around Aussie RR sites. I'm pretty sure that I recall reading something on an Aussie site about a substitute "Supertree." Good luck!

Sedum? Really? That stuff grows in the garden of my old house (but not my new one). I will hunt some down tomorrow from the local garden center.

I was going to say it is a weed. You treat it with glycerin and hot water so that it does not dry out. Trim the flowers first. I think it is a bit fragile for terrain. It last for years on a static diorama or railroad layout.

Huh. Who knew? We actually have some sedum in the garden at the farm. It turns pretty colours in the fall, apparently. So you can grow it in Western Canada.
