Did some tinkering with the GW Rohan House. Made a press mold of the horse head from the column to use as figure heads, took the star pattern from the gable and added it to the end pieces. Will use coir matt pieces for the roofing. |

Good looking basis for a building. Have to admit to slight suspicion of anyone with such a tidy workspace though, I'm sure that's not how it is supposed to look |

Started thatching on the house, forgot how laborious this process is. Pull the pieces off the mat, trim off any mat left, glue down pieces, soak with more glue, let dry. If I'm lucky I can get two rows done in a day. At least the weather is getting nicer so I can prime some figures to paint while the glue dries. |

Yes, that is a long winded process. Worth it though as it looks much better than the more commonly used fake fur. |

Wow! The plastic thatching on the Rohan house looks more or less okay to me, but the "real" thatching you've done is really several steps above and beyond. Looks fantastic. The cart's a great touch, too. |

Few stray pieces to cut, but otherwise done. |

Looks great. Out of curiosity, how long did it take you? |

How long? Hard to say, maybe not quite an hour doing one layer between the glueing and the cleanup. So max ten hours? Really don't think it took that long but seemed long since I could only do a layer a day, if I had time in the morning and evening I could do two layers but I usually just planned on only doing one when i could work on it between yard/house work and family. Really messy project but I like the results. |

Wow, that's pretty fast, I reckon. Congrats! I look forward to seeing them used in a game! |

Hey Map, Long time between for me. Nice job on the house. Just a tip but you can cut the heads off 54 mm plastic horses to decorate your houses and forts. I use broken plastic horses and cut them off at the neck with a razor blade. The Dollar Stores usually have bags of cheap Cowboys and Indians or Farm animals. Just a suggestion. |

I was just wondering if you ever visit this site! Nice to hear from you, miss your terrain posts. Dollar (now $1.25) stores and craft stores are great for items that a coat of paint and a wash can fix and look great. |

Yeah, I have not been around much at all. I've been too into my AWI collection and have neglected my LOTR troops. It comes and goes. I did a bunch of snow and winter terrain articles for an E-zine |
