Hi, as some of you know, Im a Mordor player in WOTR. I have an unpainted Fell Beast, and Im really waiting for the moment, when I can use it. Which Ringwraiths do you suggest to use? Isn't a Fell beast to expensive unit, cause the bowers could shoot it easily, couldn't they? Except the Shadow lord. |

When in comes to combat and enemy magic the Shadow Lord is equally as easy to kill, and besides all Fell Beasts can hide behing big blocks of infantry, shooting shouldn't be a problem if your clever and your enemies archers aren't in elevated terrain. It depends what you want to do with it as to which one you use. The Undying is bad nless you expect enemy casters to kill you that way, but as with the Shadow Lord and Khamul, I don't recommend them. The Dwimmerlaik, the Tainted, the Dark Marshal, the Witch-king are the best imo if you only want one, otherwise the Betrayer and the KoU could be useful battlehost stle. And yes it is expensive for what it does, and they do die easy, in most ie 99% ofinstances 2 Ringwraiths would be more useful, or MoS and Kardush, as Fell Beasts alo don't have ES in addition to being easy to shoot, kill in combat and magic to death, they are also easy to duel. |

Has anyone ever used a fell beast successfully? I've wanted to buy one for a while now but not sure if I would ever play one, so has anyone used one effectively? |

Yeah, this is what interest me also. Cause it's looks very cool, but anything else? What if there is a group of elves archers at the top of a hill. No chance to survive their attack. Is the swoop attack effective? |

Against archery I think it should do ok, it's D8 means its either 6&5's or 6&4's so that's not too bad, just always try and keep them far enough away so they only get strength 1 attacks |

I've used one Fellbeast often successfully. The trick is to go 2nd always swoop behind units so they can't charge you and cast spells. Not very glamorous, perhaps, but it keeps them from dieing except against Gandalf and Strength from Corruption. I like to use the Tainted or the Dwimmerlaik on the fellbeast. Both are very amusing to fly circles around your opponent with. |

Thankyou Tzeenitchling9 for proving that they are not a moot point, and proving the Dwmmerlaik and the Tainted are good choices for a Winged Nazgul. |

I've used 2 on Fell Beast together in a 1500 points match. Try fielding two and you'll learn how to use them pretty fast. For attacking I like The Betrayer for re-rolls and The Tainted since we are using Spirit Grasp . The Shadowlord and Khamul are safer bets for attacking. The rest I find are more for support who fly out cast a few spells and fly back to safety. The WitchKing's Black Dart adjusted with might is scarey plus auto passes for the front line is nice. The Dark Marshall can share courage where its needed and his fight. Dwimmerlaik has a nice area effect. Knight of Umbar I wouldn't bother with. Don't take chances and wait for your opportunity. Herioc Move out of potentially dangerous situations. Only charge the sides and rear. Never fight Strength 4+ formations. Stay 12" away from Epic Shot Hero's. Stay out of range of spells and arrows. Vice-versa you should try and take out these threats first. |

Hi, I typically use two mounted Ringwraiths, one as the Shadow Lord, and the other as Kamul. I put them on opposite sides of the table and perform swoop attacks, with each beast going in a diagonal pattern so that it forms an "x". The swooping attacks, done turn after turn, have the potential to do terrific damage. You only really need to fear an army that has Legolas or Lurtz in it. Missile attacks can be problematic, but both of my Wraith choices are selected because of their defense against misslie attacks (having any other types mounted is a waste in my opinion). Kamul is quite good at reflecting shots back on to enemy units, and the Shadow Lord cannot be fired at unless it is within short range, so it can be pretty easy to avoid being shot at if you plan correctly. 500 points seems an awful lot of points to just be doing swoop attacks with only cause D3 damage. Does that really do enough damage? |

Well, you have a two mastery level 3 magic also, you can make a lot of trouble. For example, you find a small group of archers->courage reduce magic->transfix->ect. |

Just seems like a lot of points that seem ok ish but not really deadly like a magic Dragon. |

Dragon is in Moria, not in Mordor. I think the good think in the Fell Beast, that it can fly very fast, so you can change you position very fast. Thats a good think. Can a fell beast At the Double? Probably yes. |

I play a Moria army and have been thinking of allying in a fell beast for a while now. The only problem is if you move 1st, your opponent could then turn on you and with you only being HTK and not VHTK, easily kill you |

I still think Khamul and the Shadow Lord are bad ideas, theit abilities would onlyu keep them alive marginally longer than the others, so you're better off with a rule that is more useful. |
