DMS kindly confirmed I am able to submit a non LOTR mini for the challenge, so I am going to submit dwarf general on war bear from Scibor minis. I absolutely love these miniatures and have been dying to paint for ages. What better Chrissy treat! Should be able to make a nice winter theme with the base.

Martinus - your pictures of your finished piece are very small and for some reason I can't save them to upload to photobucket. You might want to make them a little bigger and try uploading them again. I'd hate for you to miss the vote because I can't get the pics on the voting thread.

I may have bitten off more than I can chew. Anyway, I have almost finished the war bear. WIP shots below. Just need to start the dwarf general and the winter base.

It was a joy to paint the war bear. Exquisite detail. I hope I have done it some justice. Comments always welcome. I'm not sure about the blanket - I think the highlights might be too stark a contrast with the darker folds.

Here is my entry for the December competition. 5 pictures per model seemed a little bit of an overkill so I just added a few more shots of the entire force as well as a few close-ups. Enjoy :)

[edit]: Reduced images to 6 total, the rest can be found here: http://one-ring.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=50&t=26963

Sorry guys I've had to amend the number of pictures that you can submit for voting. Please 6 pictures maximum.

(I didn't realise I had written 5 pics per model in the original post... doh!)

My first entry! Saruman and Gandalf the White mounted.

My apologies --- I'm new to this, and I forgot to take a picture of Saruman completely unpainted (oops!). Luckily I remembered that you were supposed to photograph your entry and got a picture of Saruman in the very early stages of painting and Gandalf still in the blister, as you can see. Saruman was undercoated in white so the only thing I've done is re-undercoat the horse black amongst a couple of minor things.

I hope this will not be a problem, I am looking forward to competing. Though there will be stiff competition knowing the people on this forum!

Hopefully I can get my entry finished in time, and again, my apologies, I hope that I will not be disqualified for painting Saruman's horse a little before I entered it.

It's a Dwarf traveller from Mithril Miniatures. Have a look at their website, they have some excellent minis!
