This is a tough one....... all the usual suspects painting to their usual high standards as well as some newcomers with some fantsatic entries. Hmmm too good I'll have to have a think and come back later I think. Well done all! |

This contest not so strong, most of the figures are "bad painted". I voted for White Wizard's diorama, I like that. |

A toss up between ErurainontheTrombonist's Frodo, BilboOfTheWhiteTower's Sam, Frodo and Gollum, WhiteWizard's "Enjoying a few, well earned, comforts", and Bartelomeus' Pippin. In the end I went for BotWT's Sam, Frodo and Gollum - I really love the dark colour scheme, but well done to everyone, great entries as usual |

I went for BOWT.. the idea of turning the fish into a rock and Gollum's sneaky little Hobbitses look is spot on! WhiteWizard's "Enjoying a few, well earned, comforts" was the best concept by far (and one I'm copying in the future ), but was just one click down in terms of painting.. Good luck to all! |

Very tough competition once again. In the end I decided on Whatevier's Sam. Really love the base and the painting is superb! |

Wow, too many to choose from!! Everyone is showing so much progress from month to month on these challenges that it makes it tough to decide!! I was really enamored with Bartelomeus' Pippin (my favorite of all the Pippin sculpts) and WhiteWizard's Diorama, but in the end went with Whatevier's Sam for the unique, and well executed color scheme! Well done everyone!! |

Some good ones on here. Went with Damian for the job he did painting the flesh and the rocky base which is part of the model. Not too big on the eyes though, but it is artistic. If I was able to vote for Laurapalmer's Bilbo I might have gone with her, the detail on the collar and cuffs are very nice. White Wizard has a very nice Diorama. Ares B you have a unique little Hobbit. And I thought Rosie Cotton was alone in the warrior hobbit princess department. Nice paint job on it. Good job to the rest as well, there were a few others I've considered voting for. |

All excellent entries really well done guys! Too many to mention so thought I'd keep it to the 2 that caught my eye the most and stood out for me. BOTWT and Garmenhord, I wish I could vote for both. BOTWT the idea with gollum and the rock is brilliant and the bright blue eyes really grab my attention, a brilliant entry! Garmenhord I think this is one of your finest pieces the glow effect is excellent and the base compliments it very nicely. In the end I couldn't decide myself who to vote for so it came down to a toss of the coin and Garmenhord got the vote. Great work guys, keep it up!! |

There are some really excellent entries this month as usual making it difficult to vote. ErurainontheTrombonist - Great entry, nice all round painting and a great base. BOTWT - Consistently top notch painting with the usual dark foreboding feel to it - I love this entry!! The WhiteHand - Great OSL and the cloak highlights are fantastic LauraPalmer - Wow !! What a base and the expression on Bilbo's face is great! Garmenhord - This is a good little entry this oe mate - the OSL is a little strong but is in all the right places. The base is also very interesting, I like it. Well done mate! WhiteWizard - Great little diorama - nice work all round Damian - Excellent painting - love the eyes POW - The level of OSL is just about right on this model, It also has a dark foreboding feel to it. I really like this entry. Bartelomeus - this is an all round good entry - the painting makes the model very realistic - awesome!! Wah Wing - Love the pony Whatevier - Great entry - love the stone flooring and the painting is also a very tidy job indeed. So I think this month narrows down for 4 entries for me - POW , Bartelomeus , Whatevier and as usual BOTWT - I still can't decide who to vote for......i'll have to com back again .. sorry lol |

Voted for ErurainiontheTrombonist in the end, all models had excellent paint jobs but it was his base for me that won it. Garmenhord, directional lighting takes some serious stones man, good job! Must try it with my Frodo |

I voted for Ares's Lily Greenthumb. She looks just like the character should and I think it may be Ares's best challenge entry so far. I had to skip this myself. My only unpainted hobbit at the moment was frodo wrapped in Shelob's webs and that would have been quite silly thing to paint for a challenge. -- Pasi |

I'm going to stick with my initial feeling and go with BilboOfTheWhiteTower - your style of painting is incredibly unique. I love the way every model you paint has that dark feeling to it. So fitting for the Lord of th Rings. Well done to all other entrants and look forward to seeing what you guys come up with for the August challenge. |

Is the invisible frodo a serious entry? I was considering doing a scratch build of frodo and sam under the cloak at the black gate (i.e. a blob of miliput painted grey) but I thought that it wouldn't count. |

Really hard to pick a winner here. I went with WhiteWizard for an outstanding diorama. I really liked Damian's gollum too - but he's not a hobbit, or is he....... |
